Foster, Robertson etc

@Donsteppa said in Foster must go / Assistant Coach changes:
At least there is no danger of peaking between World Cups this time around.
The World Cup favourites monkey is well and truly off our backs.
Phew.

Not at all, according to foster this was our best performance of the year, all downhill to the RWC now

Jesus Christ, what planet is he on?
“I know people are frustrated, and we’re frustrated with the results,” he added, “But you don’t achieve growth if you get too panicky and start making dramatic changes and put too much pressure on players. We want them to feel the pressure tonight, understand what it’s like playing test matches over here, and we’ve got to be sharper in what we do
No wonder the players love him, he's a useless fat soft teddy bear, all touchy feely, and no pressure

@Machpants TBF most improved* performance is different to saying it was our best (or did he say that too?)
*most improved, who really wanted to win that trophy at prizegiving?

He said best this year

Fozzie looks worried, Cane looks pissed.

@Machpants he actually fucking said that??????

Foster is an obvious example that if you take a sub-par leader of a group, eventually that group will start to fall apart and standards will slip. A rabble ensues. That is exactly what we have become.
It is quite telling that a notable area of improvement was our maul defense - which Jason Ryan is in charge of.
I think the players have lost faith in Fozzie and have lost, or are losing, confidence in themselves.

@Winger Wonder if Wayne Smith might be brought him for a consulting role of some kind. Surely the coaching transition is already in place.
I would appoint Robertson and let him decide re smith. But he might have his hands full

You'd like to think if we lose next weekend (as it would appear we will) then NZR need to come out from behind the rock and make a decision.
It is crystal clear under Fozzies leadership things are going backwards at a rate of knots, NZR must start working on contingency plans, or accept he is there through 2023, where our fall from grace will be at the amusement of NH media.
A line must be drawn, calls must be made.

Wait! What? Is that still an option?

@Old-Samurai-Jack well you'd have to think if they dont kick him for touch before the EOYT, they wont?
Just my opinion.

@chimoaus probably cost them >$6m to get rid of Foz and then buy O'Gara out of his contract
Foster has until 2023 RWC I think. So surely not a huge amount for him. Maybe for Foster and his assistants (Plumtree etc) and buying out O'Gara. But would O'Gara shift now he's a successful head coach? And would the NZRU be keen on doing this again especially with a foreign coach
