7 of the starting 15. Seems odd but I guess they just want to see what they look like at this level. Likely to only get half a game and then the eligible players get a run in the 2nd half

Indeed. I'm sure he'll be playing club rugby on the wing for a few years yet.
I'm not sure he'll be apart of the WC squad but it will be cool to have him play for the Wellington Lions for one more campaign to help defend the Shield.
His body seems to be close to finished for top level rugby now. But hope he is Ok for one last super rugby (and maybe the ABs). But Aumua is the future so need to select him as the number 1 this year, Coles as his backup. Hnadle Coles carefully so he is available for the finals

Some regular players could be injured or carrying niggles so aren't available. Note that Sullivan, PUJ and Proctor aren't listed so they are short on midfielders.
PUJ is out for some time I think. So makes sense to try a few midfielders in these games
I area they haven't is the back row. Plenty of players here

2023 may have already started by there are 20 players down under still looking for a new club. This leaves the door open for Super League and Championship sides to make a move on those stars still looking for security at the start of the year. One of those players is former Parramatta Eels winger...

If he is he's his older brother that plays for Hawkes Bay. Hes had one start in 2021 (3 games as a replacement). Only 1 replacement game in 2022

Yeah Kienan is Riley's older bro but definitely isn't the better rugby player.

Completely forgot about him. If he's fit he will likely start. Maybe with Higgins if Sullivan is out too.
It adds a bit of interest for me this year with 2 young Wellington guns available. And to see if these new training facilities make a difference. Did Wellington move as well before last years NPC?
