Chiefs vs Moana Pasifika

Moana Pasifika in desperate need of a bye week.

MP played much better than that score suggests. I'm sure they're going to cause trouble for some Aussie teams/Drua.
Should help the lack of mid week games

Far from complete performance
No, but bonus point win. Be happy with that.

I didn't think this was a great game, and O'Keeffe entered into the spirit by being awful too. The funny thing about the Apoua YC was that the discussion started with MP asking O'Keeffe to check for foul play against the Chiefs.
The Poihipi-Nankivell combo didn't seem to work, and Nankivell was very inaccurate with his passing and option-taking. The same could be said for the loose forward combo, as Boshier didn't have the same impact at openside that he had when playing 6. Tiatia confirmed that he is an impact player only.
Hopefully the injuries to Stevenson and Weber aren't serious as a 27-man squad needs to be named to tour Aust.

@bovidae My first game at FMG in 2 years as out of isolation at last. Real mixed bag to watch but Josh Lord was huge throughout. Luke Jacobson was great in defence. ENS was much improved and Nankivell always a threat. But something seems a little out of coordination in loosies and halves. Ratima hit runners well in second half though.
Too many basic errors by MP in lineout and punting. Kaifa made an impact though. -
@arhs Yes, Lord continues to impress. He's won quite a few lineouts against the throw in the last 2 games.
The Chiefs will need to improve their ball protection at the breakdown before playing NSW and Qld. The backline still looks a bit clunky. Ioane could be the key.
MP are definitely improving but their set piece remains a concern.

@bovidae I saw a photo of Stevenson after the game walking with crutches. Didn't look good, but could just be to ease the pain. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, I read that on Stuff. The options for the outside backs could be very thin. Narawa and Trask were already out, Lowe looks to be being held together with strapping, and ENS was troubled with a hamstring in the 2nd half before being replaced.
