No, the French team has a 6 (Woki) playing at lock.
he's kind of between the two positions in size isn't he? He didn't stand out to me in the game I watched.

Would you rather have Rettalick in the 23 or Frizzell..
Hard to judge, I don't see how they directly compete.
I'd like the best overall team on the pitch. Strange, I know.
Unlike many here I prefer SB at lock to 6, as I feel at 6 against those lowdown cheating opposing loosies his tackling lacks a certain sensitivity to the laws of the game. And he is very good at lock!
But as long as the All Blacks win the next RWC, and stomp everyone into the dust with power and elan and a touch of aura in the process, I won't complain.I prefer SB at lock too. Playing him at 6 so BBBR can be accommodated is suspiciously like trying to squeeze all the best players into the team rather than playing the best player in each position. We have been down that track before with mixed results.

It's not though. Is Frizell really that much better than Barrett at 6, if he even is at all? It's more like chucking Kahui on the wing.

@Bones that's the question aye. Is he the best 6 NZ has on tour? I can be convinced either way, but I am a suffering a bit of players playing out of position fatigue.
Nothing that won't be fixed when they name a loose trio of Papalii, Sotutu, Savea this weekend.

@Bones "We have stopped watching the game because it looks awful". Real rugby fans, there! Who stops watching a game because of the colour of the boots players are wearing?
It makes me very discussed.
-
I must admint, I have stopped watching games if a team is wearing a really stupid and unnesescary change/away kit. If I'm just casually interested in the match, not invested. Apex of this was the Saffa marvel kits.
But even someone as aesthitcially devoted to heritage as me, wouldn't get hung up on boot colours.
-
@Bones said in All Blacks 2022:
Entire team was wearing white boots on Saturday. Although some had yellow trim.
I don't particularly care about the black boot thing. Although if everyone has different boot colours it does make it easier for the defence to communicate. "I've got green boots" etc. Although probably less of an issue when theoretically everyone should know their opponents names: "I've got Michael Lawes" etc

@Bovidae Every other top test nation is playing a lock at 6, S.Barrett offers everything we need there and is necessary to complete an otherwise incomplete backrow carrying 2 opensides (Cane+Savea) which Foster is welded to.
Actually, I only see England and SA playing a lock at six. Ireland, France, Australia, Scotland, Argentina and Wales aren't.
Potentially Beirne gets selected at 6 when Ireland are at full strength.
Nah. The incumbents are O'Mahoney and Doris.
-
Brendan Laney on the breakdown hit the nail on the head regarding Havili.
He said in relation to the intercept he threw, "even if he doesn't throw the intercept, he is running sideways and running the receiver into touch".
Its exactly what we said pre match about ALB and Havili. Your PSDT's, Doris, Underhills, Aldritts will lap that shite up all day having two midfielders who crab the whole team across the field all day.
You need a jagged elbowed lump to carry direct and make them work for their tackles.
Thats Jordie Barrett.

POM is a talisman but I could see him making way for Beirne at 6 if Henderson and Ryan are fit in the second row. Beirne has played 6 before in this scenario.

Fuck me , he was dogshit at the weekend.

He's not slow IMO, or even that much slower than he used to be (if at all). And it's clearly a game tactic for these kicks. Jordie and RM are doing them too.
Agree in the weekend, BB didn't execute them well, but the decision to do them isn't wrong.

I reckon he has lost a bit of speed not top end maybe but over the first 10 metres .
The kicking I hate it whoever does it wasted ball IMO. -

I love the bloke but he doesn't get in the squad for me now. When was the last time he crossed the whitewash. He almost looks disinterested or something. I want to see him spilling claret. Even DC used to have a bit of mongrel. Beaudy comes off the pitch spotless.
Give me Jordie at 12 and Air Jordan at 15. End of story.
Dmac for the bench over Beaudy.
There. I said it.
