    My backline at moment is:

    Smith
    Beauden
    Reece
    Goodhue
    Rieko
    Jordan
    Jordie

    Christie
    Mo'unga
    ALB

Would happily swap Clarke for Reece if he starts to recapture the form that got him selected in the first place.

Best to find an alternative. Don't think he's bringing much off the bench this year.

Coach was in the Crusaders Box.Craig Belamy is good mates with Razor,Belamy was at the Crusaders captains run on Saturday.
They interact with each other regularly, they have spent time at each others bases on a few occasions.

Along with Dave Rennie? Rennie and Belamy we're in the same box.

For the highlanders game They we’re ,then Bellamy was in the crusaders box for their game,Rennie wasn’t.

@Bovidae Thats fucken weird that we play SA twice in SA and play Argentina twice in NZ during the Rugby Championship. I noticed that the three Bledisloe games were announced in Feb but clearly clash with the Rugby Championship so I assume the third Bledisloe is still unknown?

    @chimoaus

I think it must be for player welfare. Basically two super long round trips there and back in a week are avoided, replaced by one super-long trip that is a fortnight long.

Presumably next year it will be the other way round.

    I quite like it.

That appears to be the new format to minimise travel.

Yeah its interesting and a real challenge for NZ in SA but hey we need a good test. Looks like Australia got the rub of the green hosting SA at home and away to Argentina.

This must also set some sort of record for only playing 3 nations at home in a season? (outside covid) and we don't have any warm up games for the All Blacks?

@No-Quarter fair enough. Never understood the concept of the bench player needing to cover all the positions. If the starters can cover positions then it doesn’t matter surely?

I prefer the utility to come from the bench, purely to minimise disruption. If you only have a 12 on the bench and he comes on for a centre/wing, that's two big changes to the backline.

agreed, we see it all the time with someone like Banks at the Highlanders....he comes on...but has to come on at 10...so hunt has to move to 15...and gilbert/CGB (whoever) has to move to the wing...and now one sub has 3-4 people playing in new positions

@Kiwiwomble The article I posted is only for the home test schedule. The ABs play SA in SA (Nelspruit and Johannesburg).

I don't mind them being casual or light hearted. It's just sport.

One person speaking at time would be nice though, especially with Zoom lag.

It's almost guaranteed that Goodhue & Ioane will be Foster's midfield pairing.

It's probably too late at this stage to bring in TUJ, Nankivell, while Tupaea & Fainga'anuku (both just 22) aren't anywhere near the finished product yet, as both are woeful defensively, but they're definitely ones for the future. The only absolute certainty come 2023 is that (barring injury) Reiko will be our starting 13.

I don't understand the thinking that it's too late to bring in new talent when there's nearly 20 tests before the RWC.

Is Leicester that bad defensively? According to the All Black app he has a better tackle % (85%) than Ennor (83%).

@No-Quarter Agree up to a point, want to see more from Goodhue , picking on one game is a bit extreme.
