Southern Hemsiphere teams and Northern Hemisphere refs aren't a happy combo.
Interesting analysis

Is shows our players are dumb and don't learn down south. Is very annoying.

I would be interested to also see how teams benefited from opposition cards and also comparisons of home and away cards.
I have felt that in the past couple of years there have been numerous incidents that could meet card threshold in every match and often it is just luck of the draw. The actions of players drawing attention to an incident, the crowd reaction and the motivations of tmos all play a part.
Certainly at super level the commitment to reviewing some types of incident has varied greatly.
Basically I think the top players are starting to play the refs and tmos in getting cards for their opponents. -
@Machpants I'm not convinced that's the issue. Just look at the difference between Ta'avao's red card and Porters non-red card. That was just overall terrible officiating and adjudicating. Both incidents should have had the same consequences. You can't see that in a chart like that.

True. But our guys do seem slower to pick up the subtleties required, compared to NH players
-
@Machpants You reckon that explains that graph 100%? Just the Porter and Ta'avao incident has got my tin foil hat on.

you dont think its fair? the NH and SH definitely seem to interpret the rules differently

it's not fairness, it's a fundamental issue in rugby. The interpretation changes week to week are baffling. World Rugby hold this - they select grade and instruct the referees.
-
From just a quick look the French have only played 6 matches this year 2 against Italy and 2 against Japan.. yeah great graph
-
@bayimports surely they played the 6N too so thats another 5 games

I was expecting that, but not according to world rugby.. (filter on France and 15s only and mens results)
-
@bayimports but...we know they played in the 6N so something is obviously wrong with that, just google gives more believable results
-
@Kiwiwomble yep was looking for it, appears website playing up.. changed website and there it is..I was beginning to think it didnt happen lol even though I watch some games..
thanks for finding it i was going mad

Two against Italy ????
So far this year, France have played the 6N (5 games), 2 games in June against Japan, 1 against Australia and 1 against South Africa. -

Get NH refs for Super rugby and things would come right pretty quickly.
And NH TEAMS might see an upturn.

Without the breakdown of whether a NH or SH was reffing a particular match it's impossible to determine that

Now that the tour is over, here are a few lessons learned :
De Groot and Lomax are certainties. They are the best props in NZ by a country mile.
Dalton P is clearly the best openside. Will Cane return as captain ?
Retallick and SW are still faring very well. Their first half against England was sublime. Let's hope one additional year will not be to heavy to bear.
If Jordie stays in midfield, then Foster will have to look for a fullback : Jordan ? Love ? Stevenson ? Sullivan ? BB has lost his pace and his confidence.
The defence still needs a lot of work while the attack relies too much on individual feats. Cross kicks look like the answer to the rush defence but their systematic use is a worry as variations are asking more questions to the opponents.
