@bobily2 Thanks! The ball carrying stats make it clear that GCT and Pat T will be hard for the Blues to replace. May have to adjust their attacking plans.
Particularly in close-quarters. I feel Robinson and Tucker, while both being good ball carriers, are generally a little more effective out wide.

Probably worth mentioning if a player has been swapped between lock and loose forward, this will include all his games, no matter what position. I'll include these players under both the locks and loose forward breakdowns.
I'll probably group blindside and No.8 together for the next post, and provide openside separately.
Nice to see my theory about the Saders being shown in the stats again.
Whitelock and Barrett carrying the load, and our senior All Blacks being overplayed in Super rugby.
Looks like Razor is intentionally overplaying the All Blacks so they're too tired for the Test season to spite the NZR for not choosing him as head coach....

@bobily2 I am surprised that Josh Lord played that many minutes as he only played a handful of games and went off injured early against the Rebels.
I've just double checked my time calculation, just in case, and it is looking okay (I wouldn't bother, but I definitely had some questionable numbers coming out earlier on) He had 5 games, 3 in Trans- Ta$man, 2 in Aotearoa. In the Trans- Ta$man he had 80 mins, 70mins and 3 min games. In the Aotearoa comp he had an 80 min game and a 43 game. The 43 min game is the only one I haven't verified was calculated correctly, as the official SR website is a little too slow.
So I guess, while he has played few games, they like to leave him on for most of it. Probably makes some sense when you look at their other locking options given all the injuries they had towards the end of the season.

Which is a bit bizarre given Strange and Dunshea have both spent time in All Blacks camps (or were named for a camp - I think one of them might've gotten injured first?), and they can definitely afford to rotate in that position
Absolutely, but they don't really use all of their squad - they rely on Taylor, Whitelock, Barrett, Mo'unga, and Havili especially (and Goodhue when he is fit).
The only real rotation happens with the outsides.
At hooker and first five, we hardly see their 2nd choice, let alone their third choice. I think that is quite different to every other team (except perhaps the Landers who probably don't have the depth).

Probably his job is to win SR that is why.

@duluth IMO looks to have way more upside than Parkinson anyway, my only problem is his past, but that doesnt seem an issue these days.

With Parkinson injured Selby-Rickit will get consistent SR game time. I think his style would work well at Test level.
He’s 25 now, so should be approaching his prime
I a bit of a fan of Seby-Rickett to, wonder if he capable of step up, but as you say a season of plenty of starts at super level may answer some questions.

I really think Josh Lord become a proper test player after 23 WC, I a real fan of this kid, but he still is just that a kid, a couple of years will see him learn a lot.

@bovidae
Let's wait for Fabian Holland (if he stays in NZ). This guy has the physical attributes to become an outstanding lock. With him and Lord, there will be at least two very good options for the post WC period. If he stays? He sounds keen to be an AB:

The biggest issue was he picked the wrong gender, otherwise he would have been fast tracked into the ABs.
I think both him and Parkinson have significant upside.
