That surprises me a bit. I know the Wallabies are being held together by sticky tape at the moment, but Wales are much the same. And that shambolic display against Fiji has to count for something? Fiji destroyed Wales at the breakdown. We're not ranked 9th in the world for nothing.

Agreed - Wales aren't red hot, but they still won and were pretty close against the Boks.

The Wallabies aren't that far away of course, but fuck we've shit the bed on this tour.

Wales play a game pretty similar to the Boks. Given that the Wallabies found a game plan to beat the Boks twice in a row, I would tip them for the win today.

    Agreed

And our nemesis, Kurtley, is playing

I'm not sure he is the same as Kurtley of yore.

I'm sure we can adjust our level accordingly

I tend to agree with you.

I'm not sure why we're playing like this, Pivac was meant to be a breath of fresh air after the effective but dull Gatland era, but it's not quite panning out like that

@bones so the guy gets a red card for bad tackle technique. I mean it was head on head

Never a red imo either, very poor decision and good game ruined now. Wales should sail through this game.

    Beard is 6’ 5”

On the hoof maybe 6’ 2”

You go head on head at that height you deserve to go

Definitely shit technique, but the lock definitely dipped and also lead with the head. YC to make him think about it. No doubt he put himself in a shit position with the officials so can't complain but to say there's no mitigation is bollocks.

Tackler made initial contact with the opponent's head. Only going to be one outcome.

With his head, not shoulder or arm.

@bones clearly nobody is caring about the fact that it was a head on head collision. I mean what are we saying if there's another head on head it's yellow for the tackler if there's no damage done

@bones Doesn't matter. Make direct contact with the opponent's head without mitigation and it's a Red Card these days.

Except that there was clearly mitigation. You can't possibly make a case that the Welsh player was upright and wasn't leading with the head.
