@nostrildamus You know that old saying, "I before E except after C". Works for me. šŸ™‚

fuck i love All Black fans

Not 7 days ago this site was awash with how good the selecting was, how maybe we needed to come around on Fozzie based on the improvement in play, and in players, and the new depth we had created

A week later, after a game we fucking won, and it's "get rid of the guy who last week was the long term answer at 6" and "oh we all knew this was coming with Foster he's shit"

We are fucking insufferable. Well, not me, mainly yous

Not me. I was not happy with TJP and said so before the game. I would have preferred Weber.

I have never rated Beauden Barrett as a #10 -- so many of our worst games are when he plays there. Not a lot of point going on about it when Mo'unga wasn't available. But I did state that I thought he would be poor.

I have never, ever rated Bridge.

I generally come to TSF to discuss rugby, not to get into arguments. I don't rate Reiko at centre, because he is a great winger wasted as a midfielder. But I don't get involved in that discussion here though, because it just leads to flame wars. And there weren't a lot of options again. I have also stayed out of the Akira Ioane discussions.

I doubt I'm the only one here who doesn't express a contrary opinion because it isn't worth taking on the white knighters. That shouldn't be taken as endorsement.

But my hostility to Foster remains undiminished. Even when he appears to be doing well, I live in the full expectation that he will fuck it up.

@kiwiwomble i think with Reiko as the back up 13, ALB can go to 12, plus they loves them some Dmac so that's why Mounga comes in for Quinn for me.

I think Paps will be more suited to a tight forward battle, while Ethan played well, I think Paps plays with a shade more size, even though I don't think there is much between them.

Could we have a TSF script that changes all Reiko to Rieko? So many people write both Reiko and Rieko I can never remember past a day the correct spelling, I have to keep checking ... probably time for the old folks home, just can't afford it right now.

'He's fast now': The reason behind Rieko Ioane's All Blacks re-birth

'He's fast now': The reason behind Rieko Ioane's All Blacks re-birth

All Blacks boss Ian Foster has revealed how Rieko Ioane has rekindled his mojo to put himself back into top form in the black jersey.

    Webber to Weber too.

if they play more open suddenly this week we will absolutely murder them

Exactly this. There is no way the Boks are going to do anything different in approach. They will be focusing on improving decision making and execution when cracks appear, tackling execution and discipline. In their view, their approach held the ABs to 1 try, 23 turnovers and ultimately a 78 minute penalty to win the game. Boks conceded 16 penalties to 10 and threw 65 passes compared to 141 from ABs. Despite this, territory largely equal. They will be saying - ā€œwhere did the ABs passing get them, except producing turnovers. Let’s keep the pressure on.ā€ The Boks like to play without the ball. They don’t give a shit about entertainment - only what works. If they can cut the penalty count, on that alone, they will believe they will be there or there about come the final 15mins.

Personally I don’t think they have the gas in the tank for this, but let’s see….

Not sure too many would argue that point.

But with no ALB he's the best option.

From my pov if the ABs cut out the handling errors that alone will add 10-12 points.

There are other improvements available to them by the above is the big one under their control.

Not sure what the Boks can do better. Except not kick for 50/50 options quite so often. Hold the ball for some 60/40s maybe.

They don't even need to cut out any errors to get those points 10-12, just take the fucking 3 in a grinding game

Boks will want to cut down on the penalties (and yellow card) and yes, improve balance on kick v run. But only in the last 20 or so. Up to then, more of the same….

The less people such as your good self post, the more this turns into a partisan echo chamber, filled with the ignorant who hold dissenting opinions to me. šŸ˜‰

Malherbe is a big loss for the SA team. Koch is probably an even better scrummager but he is - for reasons unknown to me (racial quotas ?) - always kept on the bench. Is Nyakane a reliable THP ? The ABs should win the scrum battle till Kitshoff and Koch enter the pitch.

I think it will be later, 4pm? Cos they're doing it a set number of hours before kick off, now

@machpants That's a pretty daft policy. Just name it at the same time each week if the game is on the same day!

With stadium capacity now reduced to 75% in QLD due to restrictions announced today there might be a few people who cannot attend this.
