@mariner4life 'supposedly decent team'.
I thought they played really well in the first 40.
But they fell apart horribly
And that makes them kind of a bad side, and us not as good as the scoreboard suggests

3 intercepts in 2 games is pretty bad from Oz.
And at least 2 right on the chest too

I would dump McLeod any day of the week though. Our defensive structure is poor.
Too much confusion and second guessing. We end up doing a fuckload of scramble, but maybe it's the plan with superior fitness and smaller bodies.

Is there one single part that looks good?
Actually that's unfair, our heads up, broken field attack still looks good.
Can't coach talent out of players

@mariner4life They are a terrible side and supporting them hurts my feelings.

@mariner4life The Retallick try was absolutely fucking sick.

Definitely the highlight closely followed by nuggets break and set up of Codies first try

Good call that was awesome. The pass to create the break was sick

Interesting that one can accurately gauge the strength of the teams bench in the perfectly normal situation of a 30 point lead.

Bingo. The experience of the current crop is still core to their ability to win. Absorb all the pressure, wait for the turnover, and goneski.
Of course, this isn't tactics, and nor should it be. Relying on opposition errors works up to a point (RWC2019).

Makes me chuckle. "Fuck yeah Wallabies, they're up by 4 tries and emptying their bench. NOW we strike!"

A lot of things appeared to go right in that Retallick try.
Firstly Oz defensive alignment out wide was off as we had more attacking players than defenders.
When we swung the ball to R Ioane there was cover for him and I’d say the Wallabies would’ve thought that 9 times out of 10 he is running with it.
R Ioane doesn’t run but makes the excellent cut out flat pass to a bigger body A Ioane who is running on. The Oz defender is caught in two minds and is basically stuffed just leaving one Oz defender to cover. We have DMac and Jordan running in motion and only single coverage from Oz (their halfback who in my view rightly picked to cover Jordan hoping his teammates would recover infield.
Three other All Blacks join the attack in support and we basically create a 6 on 3 scenario.
A Ioane makes the right pass inside to DMac and then DMac in a split second gets the ball off to Retallick in support. There was another 2 players in support should Retallick have needed it.
An excellent try.
