Hurricanes 2022

It doesn't really matter who they pick, to be honest. The players who make the starting lineup will be the same old stale players that always do. The odd time that a youngster gets selected (following an injury) and shines, they'll chuck him straight back into the Bs team till he gets sick of being neglected, and will sign for another team.
-
@bobily2 even worse is when they consistently perform at Super Rugby, they crack the All Blacks and then all of sudden they get shunned to the bench for no apparent reason.
I agree, Holland has his favourites and no matter how good other players play, they will never get a proper crack because of that favouritism he has for the likes of Prinsep, Blackwell and Proctor etc.
That, along with the fact that we haven’t really heard much from the CEO since he fumbled Beaudy’s contract a few years ago (apart from the odd false promise) and you have yourself a pretty disappointing CEO/Coaching combo.

I was surprised the Blues were able to retain Plummer and Perofeta with Barrett back for them this year.
Was hoping the Canes would be able to convince one of them down our ways. Particularly Perofeta being a Wanganui boy.
I just hope Love is our starting 1st five. Don't think I can cope with another season of JGB lol.

@foobanz be prepared to not cope. I can't see the coaches getting over their hardon for JGB. At least Love is a Wellington player so there might be a small chance that he starts one game against a weaker opponent.
JGB on form is not that bad is he. He will never be an AB contender but Love was clearly not ready last year
-
@winger I think we can do better than "not that bad"
I've said this before but there is no point the Canes persisting with these average players that won't win you a title.
Better to go with youth with an upside than accept mediocrity season after season.
-
You would think that the Canes were one of the teams that talked to Brett Cameron.
“I did have talks with a couple of teams, but it ended up not working out,” said Cameron, who had already signed a one-year deal with Kamaishi Seawaves in Japan. ”Unfortunately, it was just a bit late in the piece to change my mind and pull out of commitments that I’ve got in Japan.

Has anyone heard any signing rumours for next year? The Canes have been very quiet lately, I even messaged them to see when the squad was named last week and I had no response whatsoever.
-
@canes4life Someone on here previously asked around the teams and was told that the teams would be announced early November.

They're busy measuring the height of their locks to ensure that they come under franchise limits.

@crucial They will have to play Bird at Fullback.
he'd be funnier on the wing. Both of them.

After the NPC apparently first week in December the squads are named so I understand.
