If he does come back that would make three first fives challenging teacher's pet JGB for that particular spot. Mr. Holland would certainly outdo some of his earlier selectorial efforts if he were to carry four number 10s in his contracted squad.

@higgins JGB had his opportunity, don’t think he will be re-signed tbh.

Someone like J Ioane will be a good pickup.

@canes4life Under this current regime nothing would surprise me so it would not be a surprise to see him given a five year extension. Just joking on that, but do not be surprised if he is still at the Hurricanes next season.

@higgins Yep, unless JGB leaves on his own accord (accepting a good offer from an overseas club, for example), I can totally see the Canes re-sign him!

Wasn't JGB the top 10 at the Canes this year until he got injured?

@nepia he was but they were all average to start with. Slim pickings until they decided to give Love a crack which you could argue was a little early as he's still developing.

That grinds me if true how can we not sign Thompson as stated before can definitely see them signing O’Reilly

@mikey07 Someone should have/get some dirt on O'R. Surely that one time he snorted the white stuff wasn't his first time; maybe not his last, either.

@yeetyaah Could be. Anyway, he has been suspended for using it in 2019 and he has been suspended for referee abuse in August 2020. He's a liability on and off the field.

I take umbrance at that! If you are attached to a City club you know the WRFU darlings are the combined Wellington College Old Boys-Victoria University outfit, followed closely by Petone if you are looking for a Hutt Valley contender.
