All Blacks v Tonga

@kirwan World Rugby need to change the eligibility rules and make these games more meaningful though.
I mean how cool would it have been to see a Tongan team with the likes of Fifita, Piatau and Fekitoa in it.
So much better than one-sided training runs that draw poor crowds.

Yeah I'm not sure they would have passed up a bit of extra dosh at their club to play for Tonga.

The post game stuff was probably the best part especially Dagg with the debutantes.

Bridge got 9.
@Stag we take it all back.

Will Jordan has 7 tries after 100 minutes of test rugby. Must be easily the fastest AB to 7 on a per minute basis.
Cully had 7 in his first two tests. Started both but can’t remember minute wise when he scored his seventh.

Okay, so to all the tossers, exactly what is poor about Bridges game stats???
The stats that aren’t there. Like being a winger that took nearly all game until he beat a man. Like being handed the ball 5 metres out from the line with one defender in front and failing to make 2 metres.

Scintillating

the metres for Coles doesn't seem enough?
-
Surely that will be enough evidence for NZR to extend Foster for another 6 years.
No doubt it will also be enough for Foster to keep picking Bridge in the starting side.I still think RIoane is wasted at 13. Him at 11 with Jordan at 14 would give us serious gas.
Liked what i saw from the loose forwards. So much depth there.

If RIoane is proactive and goes looking for work at 11 I'd agree. Thought he played ok in the midfield today but I guess not many questions were asked of him.

Reading through the match thread now I knew Bridge was going to get plenty of criticism. The Fern never disappoints.
I am sure 36 yr old Kahui would have beaten at least one defender tonight.
Regarding Jordan, I have been told by someone close to the Crusaders that he has a reputation of being a poor passer. One of the reasons you will never see him at 1st 5. Right wing is his position for the ABs.

@bovidae yeah wasn't flash with anything other than tucking and running, apart from that one kick chase. Good distance on his kicks, but not a lot of thought put into them it appeared. And as for linking with other players when he made a break...

I was actually thinking this during the game - the stats for him were going to look good. Lots of runs, and metres run, in particular. The thing the stats don't show is what he did at the end of each of those runs, which was... flop down like a fish and hope the big nasty Tongans didn't tackle him.
Maybe he'd been told to do that by the coaches to avoid injury, assuming the big nasty Tongans were going to provide stereotypical big nasty physical tackles?
Just being an optimist here.
