Some are still in quarantine? Shit.
    they tried hard.
NB Whitelock could be a decent AB captain and he doesn't win many MOTM but he is almost always so solid for the ABs-will leave a massive hole,

He's giving away a lot of penalties. Could be the slide making it hard to keep him in two years.

He mentioned that. But his workrate and involvement is still high quality.

Classy from Whitelock to get the Tongans in for the photo

Sam Whitelock is one classy guy. Despite playing Super Rugby for the Sith, one of my favourite ever ABs. Great to have him as Captain while Sam Cane is out.

What was the point of this. We would have been better suited to a north south game. Tonga can not take anything at all from this game. Nothing.

I hope they get some coin out of this test.

We'll always have that 2015 lineout steal v the Bokke in the dying minute. Outstanding player

Good point, hope so. But with only 15,000 probably not

When was the last time an AB home test had as small a crowd as that?

Hard to take too much out this game, I guess, but Just some mid-morning ramblings...

There seems an embarrassment of riches at 6,7 & 8. Foster just needs to get his combinations right.

Reiko has grown into the 13 role. Was solid today as he has been for the Blues. Tupaea also looked a good prospect. We still don't know what the preferred 12/13 combo is.

DMac had some nice touches today - unselfish player. Support play and linking was outstanding. Not sure he's in the starting XV though. Would prefer him to Ritchie taking a match-winning kick.

A lot more precision in the AB play today. OK, a bit of a run-out but they avoided the temptation to do flashy stuff and did the basics well.

Mt Smart must be much cheaper than Eden Park to open though - and cheap seats were still $50 each. With broadcast rights, hopefully Tonga get something meaningful out of this

Foster apparently got a lot out of that. I can only assume he means a little bit of job security by not losing to Tonga

I liked his comments about playing the Islands though

Reiko makes a try for Bridge.

Bridge still had 3 defenders to beat

@kirwan World Rugby need to change the eligibility rules and make these games more meaningful though.

I mean how cool would it have been to see a Tongan team with the likes of Fifita, Piatau and Fekitoa in it.

So much better than one-sided training runs that draw poor crowds.

Yeah I'm not sure they would have passed up a bit of extra dosh at their club to play for Tonga.

The post game stuff was probably the best part especially Dagg with the debutantes.

@chris-b As the team didn't get out of 2nd gear I think all of the 9 out of 10s were pretty optimistic!

Will Jordan has 7 tries after 100 minutes of test rugby. Must be easily the fastest AB to 7 on a per minute basis.

Cully had 7 in his first two tests. Started both but can’t remember minute wise when he scored his seventh.
