Good luck to Josh Lord for his debut against that pack.
He played against a lot of them when Taranaki beat Canterbury to win the Ranfurly Shield last year. Taylor, Whitelock, Christie and Grace were in that pack. And Moody.

I can understand the TTT selection - going with experience of an AB against the best team instead of a rookie (plus Stuff said TTT was injured last week) but dropping Lowe is just plain weird - he got bugger all chances and showed remarkable speed to nearly run down Nareki - meanwhile Stevenson added nothing off the bench last week.

Bizarre selection by Chiefs
It compares with the Canes bizarre selections. Gatland is likely an unwillingness to admit a shocking recruitment decision just right now. And maybe an unwillingness to risk upsetting next years head coach. So if he plays like a fool again this week (in a game they will lose barring a miracle) kick him into touch for a game they can win next week
-
@winger I didn't think Gatland went well last week by any means, but f*** me fellas, I would be surprised if he was tossed after one game. Geez imagine if all coaches did that, we would need squads of about 60 to last a season. I thought he actually looked ok at start, but went off a bit during game. I do think other thing is really you would be struggling to find a better 10 to put in his place, maybe move DMac there and if that doesn't work? Trask is still injured. I actually think whoever there this week will get hammered with Crusader's pack against them anyway.

Don't understand why ALB has been dropped/ rotated. Quinn Tupaea has always seemed so average. Has an incredibly high error rate.
âWe didnât want to compromise our preparation this week after Anton picked up a niggle in the Highlanders game. He will be a valuable injection off the bench,â said McMillan.

Injury stopped him training. Best to let the others practice together all week for the start. It may even be the case that ALB doesnât make the bench either.

@akan004 did you see Tupaea at 12 for the Maori ABs last year?
Didn't watch that game but from what I have seen of him over the last couple of years, he has not impressed. Usually takes the wrong options and has poor ball security.

1 . What's with that midfield?
2. Good to see T-cube having a crack (Am also a fan of Roe, but have been hoping for big thing from TTT for a few years)
3. Wondered where Trask was -

The article says that ALB picked up a niggle last week and hasn't trained much, so starts from the bench.
Aha! #booboo
