World Cup Final match thread

Great game so far. We got all the calls in the last 10. Some great interplay between players and last try emphasised the ab skill set. Conrad really straightens well and defence great. Glad to see Dan is nailing them, should be 19-3 if Aaron didn't have a brain fart.

tackles missed 17:2, is that true? Wow.

The busted ankle seems to have helped him steady his game! Playing like a fullback and halfback and energetic in the scrum..
-
Ironic that Barnes missed the forward pass in build up to one of the penalties, but then I was yelling for 2 kickable penalties in the phases leading up to that anyway which Owens missed IMO.
-

I had wondered why Smith kept putting the ball to the short side and Kafer explained it right on half time - it is a clever Hansen touch to keep the ball going away from Lancelot Pocock. All Blacks playing well despite fumble fingers from three or four of the forwards.

They are belting the Wallabies in defence and making ground every time they pounce on the ball. Wallabies not getting a lot of ball.

I saw Kaino in a rare blow up to the referee about something just after his long run down the right, before the last try.
-

Who's the bigger loss for the wallabies thd lock or Gits?

Giteau IMO. Meanwhile, I gave the dogs a kangaroo biscuit to crunch on...

Owens didn't call the accidental off side because he said the tackle was made first. -

I'm not, they've got away with a couple of lying on our sides of the ruck - straight after we were penalised for it, so swings and roundabouts.

Also, in any other game Kepu would have been sitting on the sideline either for 10 mins or the rest of the match.

But harsh of Kepu
-
Aussie commentators not mentioning the ref once full of praise for the all blacks

My Facebook is the opposite story -

He's not moving freely at all. If he does stay on I hope he isn't a try saving chase situation...... -

yeah McCaw seems to have discovered an instant teleporter, he is even catching and passing the ball quite well! Don't hear any of you telling him to keep out of the backline!

About equal I'd say. Douglas has been very good this RWC. I understand he is a really good pusher in the scrums as well, so that might impact about the only thing the Wallabies have going for them at the moment.

Gits going off seems to have fucked up their defence and attack structure (not that there much was any even when he was on), however Beale is a hell of a player also. He could spark something out of nothing.
-

Perhaps Vito will come on early?

Kafer is a superb analyst .
