Thought this was interesting - from Reddit -
1930's Italian fascist poster calling for the game to be spread amongst Italian youth.The poster is signed by Achille Starace who was the highest ranking member of the fascist party after Mussolini, the text reads: "The game of Rugby, a combat sport, must be practiced and spread wide among the fascist youth"
During the fascist regime every city in Italy was required to host a rugby club, and some of the major teams today like Treviso and Lazio can trace their origins back to one of these clubs.
