Will be interesting to see what any post-match judiciary process does with the cards.
I think we'll see suspensions in the low end at worst, reduced for being good chaps of outstanding character and early guilty pleas, written apologies etc
Are suspensions mandatory for reds these days? Seems odd, would have thought missing 70 mins of a game would be sufficient punishment

No they aren't - an appearance in front of the judiciary is tho. And your point is basically what I was trying to get at (it was 58 minutes for Ofa, 47 minutes for Swinton) in that they'll put a little black mark on their records and probably reduce it to a warning.
Neither man will want to appear again in the next year or two or the "good guy in a bad situation" defence won't cover it.
DISCLAIMER: this is the judiciary so ...

Why is Beauden getting a pass? World player of the year, senior all black back in his preferred position, and we are happy to accept that pile of shit and blame the forwards? They weren't the ones who decided on the defensive cross kick with no overlap for example.
Actually read other posts. He's definitely not getting a pass. Thing is that the number 9 had a shocker for the ages. Also bit difficult to blame BB for the forwards stuffing up the lineout at the end of the first half. We score then we probably win.

He needs to get those silly kicks out of his game. He tends to generally kick away too much good ball away even when he's playing at fullback.
But I am more concerned about his missed tackles. I think he missed 3 in the 2nd half last night. It's becoming a weekly occurrence now. With BB and RM on the field together, our attack improves but our defence certainly becomes weaker.

It's strange, obviously they feel 6 is the least important player on the field but this is the second time they've subbed off a 6 after a red and lost.Taking off your blindside seems to be the done thing when you lose a prop. Dunno why - but when your skipper is 7 and your 8 is one of the more effective ball runners you have (Savea was making yards in contact all night after Swinton went off).

I guess the reality is most 10s including beaudy struggle in that scenario,
Dan carter is a once in a lifetime player of which we may not see again for a long time if again , and unfortunately for the ones that follow , that has become the benchmark.
Beaudy is an awesome front foot player , probably the best out there, but there are some flaws that get exposed when it’s not going that way .
But the same could be said for mounga .
It’s either rm 10 bb 15 , or bb10 jb 15 ,
I think we will get complaints either way

I don't recall many instances where Carter played in an AB game on the back foot Pretty handy forward pack he had most of the time. But generally speaking he could also assist with that by making the right play and getting them moving again if it was a tough day at the office.

- I would've subbed off Sevu Reece instead of Akira in hindsight - the game became attritional in the end - Akira would've offered more plus had we know Australia would lose their 6, it would've made that forward battle interesting.
I said exactly the same thing to the people I was watching the game with.
Losing Akira also meant Grace became a spare part on the bench because Cane and Savea weren't going to be replaced early.
Foster on that 'we had to lose a lose forward' why? Didn't work last time, didn't work this time. Lose a winger

Reece wasn't doing a lot.

@Machpants always seems the option to lose a loose forward, yet you are depowering your scrum by doing it that way, often negating the point of retaining a full backline
Whereas taking a loosie off unbalances your D, takes out a player who does alot of tackling, carrying, cleaning, well a shit load more than a winger.

Feel sorry for Jordan
He has a history of concussions. Hope he’s ok
Seemed like a nothing tackle as well
Head on the wrong side
Without having watched the replay it looked like Jordan was accidentally kicked in the head as he made that tackle.

@taniwharugby True and Ardie is quick enough to play wing anyway if they felt they needed to use a winger on certain plays.
