Wallabies v All Blacks - Bledisloe 1 Sydney 2000

Watched the first six minutes, that was the good bit until near the end.
Funny though, was such a thing when they introduced singing the Maori version of the anthem first, now it sounds weird not to have it. That team is such an eclectic mix of legend and average.

Fuck Mehrts was good.
At half of the game. Even he admits that defence wasn't part of his repertoire.

TBF. outside the opening 10 mins and the final few, it wasnt that great from our POV, the next test we played much better, but lost.
Totally agree, the next game was waaaay better standard, just a shit finish!

Ronan O’Gara made him look like Jerry Collins though

Kicking pressure drop goals was not part of it either

The 2nd test is nearly my favourite all-time. Probably only clouded by the result

Loved watching Cullen glide through for the third try again. What a runner!
Mark Hammett nearly cocked the whole thing up with a dreadful lineout throw on 78 minutes. The All Blacks' lineout was as brittle as a tea cup in the early 2000s.
Glad Jonah the Great was there to take Taine Randall's pass and score the winner. Legend!
-
Great game.
Randall was excellent, not least basketball assist for Jonah at end.
Flavell (and Josh K) coming on really turned the forward contest and allowed us back into it.
That said, but for two wayward Oliver throws and bad misses by Merhts we could have been out of sight by 20.

Thought Wobblies shut Cullen down well after first ten.
Umaga's defence kept us in it when Oz were rampant.

Spoken like a Queenslander - loving your boy Ealesy knocking over the winner

Shit forgot the ABs played lastnight, how did we go??
Todd Blackadder played lock. Can you believe that shit ?
I’m glad Troy Flavell got selected. With his talent he’ll probably retire as our greatest lock ever. He’s ill disciplined but the coaches will sort that.
Kronfeld and Merhts take a bow. We’ll never see a 7 and a 10 this good in my lifetime, that’s for sure.

Agree on Randell. That was one of his best games in black. Not difficult to be the standout loose forward when the other two were Razor and Cribb though.
