Where am I overstating? Tackle was late Hit was disgraceful
Last sentence was a personal opinion
Not a great look to have RWC winning captain getting his knees taken out 20 mins of his debut in 2020 SRI'm not passing judgement based on a snippet not in real time. It looks like the sort of tackle that WR want; low.

He was also hit in the thigh / hip area, not knees. A fraction late but as was stated - committed. So pretty good really.

so a RWC winning captain should be treated differently to every other player out there?
Good to know.
-
The timing of the tackle was bad enough Him targeting the knee/thigh area is what makes it a dirty hit Kolisi might be out for 6 weeks!!!
Canes were pathetic - lots of niggle once they were getting bashed up front
Fifita lucky not to get sent off, Procter cheap shot on Willemse I was disgusted by Canes generally in Cape Town Persistent infringements + Captain's deplorable conduct
-
@macandcheese Fifita had already committed to the tackle when the stormers player was crouching so no shouldn’t have even got yellow...the Stormers players had there arms around the Canes players necks nearly every ruck
-
What saved Fifita from being red carded was that Scarra was in a squatting position, so there was mitigation to downgrade
You'll find neck rolls, side entries & no arms used in dozens of rucks per game It's open season

It was thigh / hip area but I'm intrigued. Where should he tackle?
You also sound remarkably like a previous poster @jaguaries4 eva or whatever his name was.

I get the impression that he hasn't played. Bloody hard to tackle if you are targeting the ... well I don't know? Hence my question above.
We were taught to hit midriff to stop the momentum, and then drop down to put him on the ground. Easy to get it a bit wrong and hit thighs, hip though, hardly dangerous, except to yourself with a hip hitting your head, or a knee to the head. -
Jaco Coetzee will be a big loss for the Stormers, luckily Cobus Wiese, JD Schickerling and Trokkie (Augustine) will return.
Herschel Jantjies rnd Damian Willemse did their part and will develop each game. Willemse was the same age group as my son at Paul Roos and was from u14 a special talent.

If it’s dangerous then it’s touch rugby nowhere left to hit someone with force. -
The away Jersey is awful. The worse by far I have ever seen for any NZ team
How does this eyesore ever get approved by NZR or the Canes board or team. It bears nil relationship to the Canes colors
I fear for the future of the Canes. Poor administrators and it seems (we will see next week) crap coaches
-
ok Ive finished watching the first half
The two things that stood out for me
-Awful Canes jerseys. Its laughable how terrible they are. Who was responsible for this mess
-The worst display I can remember by any Canes player ever. Fletcher Smith was appallingly bad beyond belief. He was bad last year but not this bad. So yes the team was bad but how can any team perform with a inept, useless, joke of a 1st 5 like this.In comparison Blackwell and Prinsep (will maybe not Prinsep) were rugby god like quality
-
The Canes have got some issues
Finding a first. Fletcher is out of hsi depth at this level. I would give Barrett a run
But the new players were poor (apart from Proctor). Or don't look ready yet.
Booth had a poor half. Hopefully he isn't another returning player who is past his best
The replacement props were both rubbish. Where's Fidow. And as old as May is hopefully he returns soon.
Scrafton is limited. I'sm sure the Blues weren't sorry to see him go. And how did he got a start in preference to Fifita and Walker-Leawere
Flanders wasn't on for long. But he looks to me like he needs to bulk up still. Maybe one for the futureSo sadly it looks like very poor forward recruitment. And also first 5 and HB. It doesn't reflect well on Plumtree.

If it’s dangerous then it’s touch rugby nowhere left to hit someone with force.Let me be clear, I've no problem with players tackling low
Riccitelli tackle technique wasn't great either His head was on the wrong side & he was fortunate to not cop a knee to his headDanger element for Kolisi was lateness of tackle Blind side hit to mid thigh area causing knee ligament damage This was a pattern of bad tackles & cynical infringements by Canes in Cape Town

You're not being clear. It's marginally late at best.
As for the hilarious statement that tackling around the thigh area is disgusting and dangerous...hmmmm....how many times do ya reckon it occurs in a game?
