RWC: Wales v South Africa (SF2)

@Higgins said in RWC: Wales v South Africa (SF2):
It depends on the calibre of their opponents. I mean if most of them were countries like NZ, Japan, Italy, and other Rugby Championship teams that beat them regularly then it is not that surprising, even allowing for Garces' exentricities.
It would be interesting to see Faeces stats with SH v NH teams overall.
I suspect his “French style” doesn’t gel with SH play. He tends to look flustered when the pace is fast -
I've changed my opinion on this game. Wales are missing a couple of their better players. Not ideal at this time of the tournament.
Old bandy legs is a hell of a player, Halfpenny isn't a patch on him.

Going this deep into the tournament and only being without Navidi and Liam Williams is pretty remarkable.
Their replacements - Moriarty and Halfpenny respectively - will do a job for us.
On a knife edge.
-
@Billy-Webb but is he going in held together by tape!

@nzzp He's on the same level as Crotty.
And as important for us as Crotty is/has been for you.

Fuck. Not fake news
Yep he's gone. There are not many times you can say we will sorely miss a bandy legged rugby player, but this is one of them. Things have just got tougher.
From a mate
"Everything happens for a reason.
Halfpenny in and his three penalties along with tries from North and Adams help us comfortably beat SA who are too one-dimensional without Kolbe.
Then, in the World Cup Final against England, Halfpenny has a 50m kick in the last minute to win it. He wants it. He’s a nice guy. He deserves it. So does Alun Wyn. So does Gatland. So does Warburton. It creeps over the bar and Wales are world champions. Circle complete."
Cheers Rob
Second lions test 2013. Halfpennyu has 50m kick to win it. Is about 20m short.
Ain't happening.
Let’s not forget 2011...

Really? I think Crotty > daylight > Parkes

Crotty's not even on the bench

13. Jonathan Davies (Scarlets)
That should cheer you up guys.
Certain loss without him.

Crotty's not even on the bench
Hence the 'has' you chose to miss.
Parkes has one thing on Crotty. Durability

Two things.
he's very very consistent. Every time, you know what you get.

So @MiketheSnow ... how are you feeling for this game now that the team has been announced?
My feeling is that if the Boks play well, we take it. I am putting my proverbial on the block right there
My biggest annoyance is that this game is on Sunday, not Saturday. I would have enjoyed the AB v Eng semi much more having our own done and dusted already...

You're in the 'Bok' seat
Player for player there's not much in it in terms of ability and experience.
Collectively you have a better unit to control a match by physical means and win by submission.
Collectively we have a better unit to thwart and frustrate a team and win by submission.
As in all things this WC, the result will come down to
taking points when they're available - both teams waste great opportunities
injuries received during the match
YC and/or RC dished outWhoever wins will be knackered, broken or both.
-
My biggest wish for this game is no cards for either side.
Such a big risk at this RWC. -
@canefan said in RWC: Wales v South Africa (SF2):
Wales have had success versus SA in recent times. But they will have to throw caution to the wind and play to win. A similar display to that in the QF and the boks should do it easy
They have indeed.
But all at home on the Boks end-of-season tour.
I'm not reading too much into those results.
