:@sparky One of the most impressive things in that movement was A Smith line he ran after his pass. He made a direct line to where Reece would likely be if he made a break, turns out he did and Smith was in the perfect place to take a pass and link to Savea. Its those little things that make the difference.
Also loved how quickly he unloaded to Ardie. Knows Ardie is the better carrier, but even more, knows he is better off supporting and clearing the ball quickly from the next ruck.
I read someone saying Ardie is this rwcs Kaino, that’s pretty high praise
He is one of those really frustrating players.
In that, whenever you see him fight for every single inch of ground, with immense leg drive , on every single carry or defensive play, you're reminded how frustrating it is that all our other more gifted athletes don't do the same.
Ardie is reminding me a bit of the young Iceman, with less effective tackling.

That's because Faf likes to stand in our backline when we have the ball
He’s rarely penalised for it so must be doing something right. Other than that blatant one when it was still under Read’s feet. But he’s very effective at it. He might just have one of those cloaks...

Technically speaking your shoulders should be no lower than your hips, and all binds should be as long as possible to keep arms straight.
In practice? Whatever you can get away with. Moody trends to bind short, so because the THP binds on the outside, his elbow is more likely to point down.
There was really only one scrum decision I felt was rough on the boks, and it was actually Nepo being flat on his face, overextended, which was called a reset.
Bok scrum much better with Snyman on.

I think there was a ruck formed prior to the pass which was intercepted.
I am agnostic as to whether it was offside or not. I reckon an AB may have ran 5m with the ball and/or we had reached the advantage line prior to the intercept. SDT was retreating. It looked really bad, but ref might have been right to let it go.
UK feed didn't allow any persepective on where PSDT was in retreat. Cut straight to close up of ruck. Coverage overall pretty average.

Top rated comment on that highlight claims Reece's pass to Smith was forward. Dummies don't even know backward from the hand = not forward.Not a clear cut position. Just how things tend to be reffed nowadays. Once upon a time backwards WAS backwards..

Didn't notice Nepo, but agree regarding rest. Moody's elbow went down two or more times. Boks were trying to point this out to ref. At least one of those Malherbe pulled Moody's arm down. And when Garcies went and stood on that side he penalised them.
Replacement props looked OK/good until Malherbe came back and Snyman on. Problems after that.

I get the sense that many here are wishing for Bridge and Reece to have shockers so they can say “I told you so!”. Feel much better having Bridge under high ball than Rieko. That said how good was Kolbe? So great to see little outside backs can still thrive in test rugby. Has to be form winger in the world. Unbelievable under high ball, great defense and electrifying speed and footwork.

I totally agree. Rieko is not yet a "Rieko who ?".

For George Bridge's try, before BB received te pass, Bridge had his arm straight out indicating BB to take the gap. Great play.
The second try was caused by ALB spotting that Marx had drifted too far over to him on the right, leaving a spot behind him-and he was too bulky to change course.

Yeah, we did miss an in form Rieko on the left, he offers a lot more on attack and is as good defensively. Hope they try and play him into some form in the next 3 games.
I think they will have given him the challenge in pool play to regain his attacking form

Are they? Maybe there is the odd person with provincial blinkers but I think most would agree Reece and Bridge are the in form wings. Wing seems to be a position where form trumps experience more than any other. That said, I'm sure Rieko will find form and at his peak is arguably better than the others.

Maybe a little harsh, but plenty would have had Rieko and Bender chosen that’s a fact. I would understand Bender still being a chance if we were to face Ireland in terrible conditions but bar injury will be tough to drop incumbents. Not sure that a low confidence out of form Rieko can even eclipse Jordie at the moment. My opinion is he should have stayed home for the other Iaone.
