@NTA Genuine question around excitement (not expectation) of this weekends match.

Are you really pumped for this weekends game? (Compared to say the WC 2015 final which was the last time I was excited about a Aussie test match)

I am honestly amped! Aussie did a great thing for me by towelling us up last weekend. I had forgotten how much I should look forward to these test matches! Long may it continue

Like your wife, I still hope you come second on Saturday though πŸ™‚

She's getting some kind of cold/chest infection with hacking cough so it'll be handies at best.

My mates are stoked with the win, but pretty much writing this weekend off already. The last 16-odd years have really hit Wallaby supporters pretty hard.

    @Hooroo what he said ^^^

I'm considering going out for the afternoon to watch our Subbies division semifinals - they're being hosted by the team we entertained in the last week of home/away and they've promised to look after us, because we do post-match better than anyone (and have to because onfield we're rubbish). Depending what happens there, I'll give it a look, but those odds look fairly reasonable.

@barbarian I think you're right in all of that.

The All Blacks have some significant problems to resolve and the solutions to several aren't immediately obvious - most notably that the kingpin of our forward pack is missing, as is his first choice replacement.

Big Patrick is going to need to haul ass.

SBW is going to need to show he's still got it as well!

We might need Ofa to provide more punch at tighthead.

    What, no mention of Akira.

Graham Henry in the NZ Herald making the point that given the All Blacks scored four tries with 30% of the ball in Perth (and one man down for half the game), they should win in Auckland if they can secure 50% of the ball, maintain their discipline (and keep 15 men on the field, of course).

SBW with the jokes. Where’s MN5 to criticise his humour?

If we're not sure about a replacement props scrummaging, then surely at some point - in these pre-WC games - you throw him in the deep end to start. that's how you see if they're up to it against fresh, first-strong opposition props. If they go well you get the benefits they give around the field for 60 mins, if they get rogered, you sub them off and fix the scrum with the reliable old bloke.
especially when hansen has been making noises about wanting more from the props all year.

@mariner4life If the game plan does not include using him to smash it up, then I'll be even surlier than usual.

Franks and Moody are playing as a couple of inanimate objects who eventually turn up at a scrum.

The driest powder of all has been found in Moody and Franks adidas bags.

Aaron Smith has put away the running game we saw in Super Rugby, Ben Smith is cruising around in 3rd gear, Beauds only has one or two pops at the line a game, Whitelock is hardly carrying nor disrupting oppo line outs, Taylor is declining to carry the ball, Goodhue is feigning injury, Ioane is watching and learning.

All going to plan, bang on target.

I've been whooshed. The best I can come up with is the lead guitarist for Powderfinger.

At the same time I can see him playing Sonny if he is the more solid option in a game we really want to win

    That's the problem right there.
