@Victor-Meldrew I'd say it's too soon to stop. They've only played this combo twice.
I also think our backline would work better with Crotty in it.
Oh please just stop for your own sake, man. This backline already lacks any punch whatsoever without Laumape. The last thing we need is an older, shitter, more injury prone Goodhue

@Crucial I guess all of us remember where we were for that game. The emotional rollercoaster was immense.
In the cold light of day though, jeez our defence to let them back in was a black mark.
But, a win's a win
I was pissed off we let them back in that easily , I didnt enjoy that game the way most did for that reason..... but Im probably a grumpy bastard .
If we are being honest with ourselves, the Aussies had a better side than ours and I know even when we were up that OZ would make some sort of run.
Yep 100 %, and it used to piss me off
I remember well walking back to the car after that fateful day in 1978 when the world tilted on its axis. Took over 30 years for AB dominance over Wannabees to be restored.
I feel much the same today.

Ben Smith looking shit on the wing...again....
Sad to see such a great old war horse play so poorly, but he was utter shite this evening. Time to put in the younger guys who are faster and hungry for success.
Yep he got caught in no mansโs land A couple of times on D, including for their first try

@junior Laumape fanboy?
Not especially but heโs the only midfielder in the squad who can consistently get us over the gain line or even looks like heโs not afraid of physical contact
-
@junior Laumape was the major positive today. Busy in defence. Ran hard and caused problems to the Wallaby defence.
I don't see him as the starting 12 but he is very effective impact from the bench. Looks like he has the inside track to be the 4th midfielder alongside Crotty, ALB and Goodhue. Over to you, SBW.

his defence as well but still rate him above Perry
In case anyone has doubts about the validity of S Barrett's Red Card:
-
@sparky Thought Furlong destroyed him in the first two scrums but Big Karl came back really well and had the upper hand in the next few. But he fell off a few tackles in that game however, and really needs to work on his defence. I am not so optimistic about our propping stocks, we have props who are decent scrumagers (Franks and Moody) but can't do much else, or others who might be good around the field but aren't great scrumagers (Ofa, Moli, Angus). Also, surely it's time to start Laulala ahead of Franks now.

So I we going to bring in another lock and go with our hybrid policy. Couple of those Wellington locks looked impressive this year. I thought Read had a good game tonight and one of his better games in a while. We need more from our forwards but not sure from where. I think the games where the cantabs lost they were dominated in the forwards. They were just a superior โteamโ unit that allowed them to win. We can not rely on this core unit to suffice at international level. Changes at props are needed. Reece is not good enough at international level. Too small and his success was a matter of him playing in a good team at super rugby level. I guess we have to have a 15 wing hybrid so that rules out Naholo so you get stuck with less pace and a pure winger. Not sure the 10 15 combo is that bad. We were just beaten in the forwards.
