Hurricanes 2020

@Canes4life I really hope so, wow when did we have all this 1st 5 potential in Wellington 😂
-
@mikey07 if you count Gopperth and Howell as talented then it's been a few years.
I'm not sure how much we will see of them this year though as JGB is the incumbent but it will be good to have some depth in that position.

Here's a wee video on Ruben Love that I came across:

@Canes4life what about Flutey? Do you reckon it will be smith that misses out next year?

@Tim both of them are the same age I think. He is another one with potential that the Canes will most likely have an eye on.
Yep. Both were in the NZ Schools team last year. Morgan played at 1st 5 and Love on the wing - a position he had never played before. Hammertime!

@Machpants agreed, and I only expect him to get better. I wonder who else they have on the radar or if they now see TJ as that third choice first five option. Either way they will probably need a third first five anyway.
I've heard murmurings in Wellington that the Hurricanes see big potential in Ruben Love but the last time they signed someone of that age with potential was TJ Va'a, and that hasn't turned out well. I'd rather Love play a few seasons in NPC and then bring him through if he proves his worth.
The issue with waiting is the Canes might miss out. So maybe its worth taking a punt. Hes 19 now so will turn 20 next year. And Canes need one more 1st 5
JGB improved out of sight this year so pleased he's been resigned. Barrett easily deserved his awards
Of this year’s frontliners, Smith, prop Fraser Armstrong, lock/loose forward Vaea Fifita and No 8 Gareth Evans are yet to be confirmed as contracted in 2021. Further announcements are expected soon. Veteran prop Ben May has been farewelled, and will play Mitre 10 Cup for Taranaki, while utility back James Marshall won’t be returning after his season was wiped out by a hip injury that required surgery.
