From a Blues point of view, it's another tick in the column "Has tuned corner" if we start attracting talent to the region. It was very difficult in the past to convince players to move to us.
From the Canes recently, off the top of my head:
BB
Black
Christie
The very average hooker, no idea why you wanted him lol
We did get Scrafton in return, he has been good.
Nonu, Piri, Umaga although those don't really count.....Now the Canes, we never seem to attract anyone. Lomax is really the only person of note.
Shit weather might be the explanation.

@Kirwan meh I will believe it when I see it. He doesn't have any reason to move to Auckland, unlike Beauden who moved there because his Mrs wants to start a family.
I understand through one of my colleagues that works closely with the Canes & Avan Lee that the culture is exceptional atm, and to be fair it's showing with the effort the players are putting in on the park.
Leaving a franchise isn't always greener, just look at Beauden, he is probably having his worst season (form wise) for a while. Money isn't always everything especially considering Jordie can go off and make big coin at the end of his Super career.
Canes are looking VG for the future if they can keep all of their promising young players (most under 25)
TH props. Lomax and Fidow
Hookers. As long as Coles stays fit to support the exciting (and likely future starting AB) Aumua. RR has recently turned 25
LH Props. Lots of promising young players. Including Numia / PRS and Mafileo
Locks. Mitchell and IWL
Loosies. Flanders and KirifiBacks also have lots of young talent. Barrett though must be kept to support others like PUJ, Goosen, Proctor Toala Rayasi etc. Aso has only recently turned 25
Add in some older players like Perenara etc and without injuries Canes have the making of a VG side.

@Winger I'm really liking the makeup of this young team going forward, especially if we can keep the likes of IWL/Barrett/PUJ. They've all been in the Canes for a few years now aswell which makes them an experienced group.
When you take into account that academy players like Taine Plumtree have not even featured yet really shows we are starting to create some strong depth in key areas.
We really need to create some depth at First Five as I see this as our biggest worry area. We have plenty of young talent lying in wait for an opportunity so I guess we will have to wait until the NPC to see who grabs their opportunity best.
