@mariner4life Bridge is that Corey Jane type winger. Does everything well, great in the air, like having another fullback, great work rate.

@canefan But I see on this thread the Canes got the better of the Crusaders pack so BB had the easier ride,Mounga didn't according to posts on here so irrelevant point then. Wish people would make up their mind.

I said we held our own. I wasn't really talking about one game, the Saders are like the Storm. They can make good players look great. Having said that several of them ate excellent

If it’s all down to the pack he plays behind, then how come we look so bad when Ritchie isn’t playing?

I agree. When he showed signs of a sore shoulder I thought to myself if he goes off the Canes are suddenly right in the game. As it turned out if he had gone off I think the Canes would have won easily in the end; he's become such an important player for the Saders.

Now that the alcohol and bitter disappointment has worn off and I can stop hating the fluffybunny I'm super excited about seeing both him and Beauden on the field for the ABs. They could provide a real point of difference for us, especially in the final 20.

@SammyC Although I am not a Crusader supporter I surely don’t want the Jags to win because it will be a good result for rugby. I want the Crusaders to win and perhaps smash them doing it :-).

@Steven-Harris Read is our number 8 and we don’t have a replacement but he has lost a bit in the last couple of years.

I didn’t say I wanted the Jags to win.

But if it were to happen, it’d be far easier to handle than losing to the canes in a semi final.

@SammyC No you said you don’t mind if you lose. Sounds bad coming from a Cantab :-).

@Rancid-Schnitzel No 1 goal kicker easy kick lets not get precious because someone questions your hero hes not fucking superman

Calling a touchline conversion easy is utterly absurd.

@Rancid-Schnitzel Before you get all upset again what I said was Barrett missed one from his favoured side he should have kicked it thats what he is paid to do.
Mo'unga as I have said kicked 2 from the sideline from the harder side for a Right foot kicker
If it was reversed I would say the same thing everyone who has kicked goals as a Right foot kicker knows which is the harder kick and Mo'unga nailed 2 of them while Barrett missed the easier sideline conversion easy to understand and not utterly absurd in anyway shape or form.
And if you are the Starting kicker in a WC final you need to nail your kicks otherwise why are you selected to kick goals.BB didn't Mo'unga did simple as that.

You said two easy kicks. Absurd.

@broughie no question you are correct, we can all agree he’s not the player he once was ,there’s been many a great player that’s tread that path ,but the constant critique of the All Black skipper gets a little tiresome..I have no doubt like Richie McCaw back in 2015, (similar criticism) he’s pacing himself nicely..I would be more concerned if we did’nt have him..because there’s still daylight to Read and the next cab of the rack.

I agree. I’ll add that when we haven’t started Hall and Mo’unga, we have looked less than prime also. Never underestimate a good 9/10.

Canes had an excellent pack some years ago but when they had Gopperth and Holwell their attack was held back in my view. Both okay players but lacked that class in such a critical position.

As a neutral I spent the whole game entertained, ( until dickwad, great player, stink commentator asked the obvious again), well done Canes, gave it a good shot.

Mostly though I was warmly glowing at the prospects of the first fives we've got to choose from.

Read took the ball up well I thought, looked keen for some contact, tracking ok

Why do you say someone is upset or has their panties in a twist just because they point out your statement was absurd?

That's certainly the first time I've seen sideline kicks at goal described as easy.

What? You're the one claiming a touchline kick was easy. I assume you also meant the 50 metre effort was easy as well? On what planet have these ever been easy kicks?

@Rancid-Schnitzel didn’t mention the 50 metre kick was talking about sideline conversions
And the right side is harder to kick from the left side BB missed the easy kick of the 3 sidelines Mounga kicked his 2 from the harder side
    Pretty simple really

Arguably, sideline conversions from one side maybe more or less difficult than from the other side, but I don't think sideline conversions are ever easy.

@Bones did you read what I said left side is easier for a right foot kicker than the right
BB missed the easier of the 3 sideline conversions Mounga kicked his from the right side the harder side
So BB had the easier sideline conversion
