Crusaders vs Hurricanes

More communication from the Canes would be nice, absolutely disrespecting their fans by naming such a shit lineup and providing absolutely no reasoning behind it. What is the point of benching Perenara, it still means he has to take two weeks off. Wouldn't it be smarter to take him out altogether and then use that as one of his rest weeks. Does Plumtree have anything between the ears? I'm a bit worried at this stage tbh when he thinks we are going to be competitive this weekend.

@Wurzel And they wonder why people are switching off from this form of the game. I am a passionate fan and even I'm getting sick of how devalued this competition is now. We want to see the best playing week in and week out, especially considering this is historically one of the biggest games on the calendar.

The media provide the reason:
The omissions and benchings are all part of the All Blacks' return to play protocols, as advised to the Super Rugby teams by New Zealand Rugby. Those included the All Blacks not playing more than 60 minutes in week one, or 180 minutes total across the first three games. Perenara, Laumape and Savea all exceeded those by playing 80 minutes in their win over the Waratahs last Saturday, meaning the first two have been banished to the bench, while Savea reported a minor knee tweak, so has been left out entirely.
I expect some Crusaders to be benched or left out, as well. Mo'unga and Scott Barrett also played 80 minutes; Todd played 80 minutes, too (although I'm not sure he's subject to the protocols); Moody (due to the injury to Perry) played 73 minutes; Crotty played 64 (I guess they'll accept that, as you can't control stoppages).

@Nepia Ffs and he has Riccitelli as an impact sub. Is the guy broken or something?
You want Riccitelli to start? Or Aumua on the bench as the impact sub?
-
@Stargazer Oh right I got my information from the Canes website. Thanks for this.
-
@Nepia Ideally if Coles starts I would have Aumua on the bench. The kid needs opportunities at Super level to show what he has and I think it's kind of pointless having Riccitelli there considering he isn't an impactful kind of player.
On the other hand, if Coles was injured I would have Riccitelli starting and Aumua on the bench due to suitability.

So the crusaders don't have to follow the same ABs protocols as the canes?

Agree. But whats obvious seems to be missed by these coaches. And if Aumua doesn't get a fair go then he would be better off looking for another team. The Blues would fit best maybe
I thought the team never had a hope last week yet they won. But they will need a massive amount of luck this week. My main hope is they don't get thrashed and can keep it within 20 points.

Left Crusader Knights vs Hurricanes Development with 10 to go. Was 33 all.
A lot of players looked uncertain out there for me but guess not much riding on game.
Aumua and Uluilakepa carried very strongly for Hurricanes and Judd looked sharpe. Rayasi was an interesting watch. The kid looks like he can do anything with the ball but does not look like a super rugby winger as he would just either be on or off. Seemed really lost on D, I was next to Cory Jane who was telling were to stand the whole game!
For Knights They looked to have a lot more structure but the standout of the game for me was Dallas McLeod at 12, a really big strong kid who made Toala, Tiatia etc life tough. Just strong and hard to put down. Made 3-4 massive runs where nobody could stop him!. Will Tucker scored a good 60 meter try outrunning Hurricane backs. (edit it could have been Frost actually who has really good pace, not Tucker)
