Sharks vs Blues

It might not be Leon's squad, but there's no clear patterns. No obvious clarity in the player's decision making let alone improvement in execution.
The current coaching staff have this year as a gimme.

This ref is so crap just another example of shit reffing all around. The last try. How is that not a penalty at the scrum. The blues put in a shunt sharks move backwards and the collapse the scrum. Yet it's okay on. Utter shit. And the tmo call after the sharks made two clean breaks where number 2 held back defenders creating the gaps is just grating. I mean why bother. Just give the home team the points and don't play the game

Blues are going to run out of time.
It's the old story: 2, 9, 13, 15.
12, 5, 11.
Robinson has been fucken awesome. If people are talking bolters...
Robinson stepped up in the second half when we started to compete at breakdown. Had a quiet 1st half.

The entire Blues forward pack was very average. Parsons was outright bad. Goodhue, Akira, invisible; Robinson ineffective (spilling his energy); Papali'i some dumb stuff (giving away penalties).
Nanai best Blues player; midfield very average; Collins bad. Ruru trying, definitely better than Pulu, but making mistakes. Black gets a pass mark. Good cameo off the bench for Tele'a with a good try.

@Rebound I know what you mean. Shit ref.
It's wierd - last season the Kiwi teams came roaring out of the blocks. This year, WC year, (where you would expect us to be firing on all cylinders) and most of our teams (Saders excepted) look like they're still on holiday at the beach, or at worst in the bach at the Coromandel. -
@ShadowTrooper Maybe the focus this year is too much on the RWC? Those ABs protocols are also a burden. It's affecting all teams, Saders included.
-
@Stargazer Yeah, reckon you are on the money. Watched a Chiefs game from a couple of years ago where DMac was fantastic. An absolute lynchpin. This year, he looks like the weight of the world is on his shoulders.
-
@ShadowTrooper I would expect our ABs to be slow out of the blocks in a RWC year considering they have had fuck all of a pre season and most will be pacing themselves this year...but the non ABs are a worry. I am certainly not looking forward to next year when the exodus truly kicks in, our emerging players don't look to be of the same quality compared to other world cup cycles.

Maybe making all ABs miss preseason training was a mistake. Maybe a big guy like Karl T needs to be training more to maintain fitness. He's looked really off the pace so far.
Hmmm... To be fair I'm not sure the point of them missing preseason is to have them firing in the first couple of rounds of super rugby...

Yes, but you need them firing....
-
@ShadowTrooper sure, in a few months!
-
Slept in..just seen the score ..bugger here we go again
-
Akira Ioane, Karl T and Dalton Papali'i need to wake the f*** up and realise that they all have a chance to play for the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup if they hit top form. But there is no chance of that if they keep playing as poorly as they did today.

Just watching it now. Geez another long season ahead. If anything, the Sharks left plenty of points out there themselves. As @Tim said, we still have massive holes in our squad and it's holding us back.
