@canefan Well he did build a successful period on his galacticos, 2011~15, it's just gone to shit since
Anyone on this site could have told him Savea would be a bust. Perhaps he could pay us a retainer and we can vet any future purchases of NZ players?
-
@canefan my guess is those on this site would have encouraged him to take Savea, earlier, and NMS, earlier

He could just join the Fern and get his advice for free!!

While NMS is yet to capture his spark of the last WC he's on a different level to Savea around training and being a professional. Savea has struggled to get properly fit at both super and AB levels before, which used to infuriate me no end, especially for the canes. No doubt some of that can come down to environment et, but there is no way I'd have signed Savea for big money.
-
NMS will be a very good north Hemisphere fullback. Strong aerial skills, doesn't miss many tackles, good kicking game, scores a few tries.

You're ever the optimist Paeks. Last I saw of NMS it looked like he'd been sprint training with Owen Frank's.
-
@MN5 I've seen him in the gym a wee bit, def agree he hasn't got back that deadly acceleration he had. But reckon it'll come back sooner than later. I guess my point was he trains the house down and has the right attitude, whereas Savea has never been a great trainer imo.

I really, really doubt that brudda. I think he's fallen to the same curse as any number of AB outside backs who lose that spark at the age he is now....Cully, Jonah, Rokocoko, Savea etc.

You think these guys would do a little research to find out why they are no longer Allblacks,
You are getting the 2019 version , not the 2015 one ,
How hard is that to work out
-
@kiwiinmelb he'd have only needed to read the fern to know Savea was well past his best. But Savea's agent did a stellar job! especially if he can wrangle that exit money!
-
@Paekakboyz showed him the 2015 1/4 final and some circa 2012/2013 clips
-
@taniwharugby and just hid the time stamp, and his latest skin folds, and 40min time... ummm and maybe passed on that he has a hot wife??
Although on that note, Mrs Savea has been really vocal since the start about his treatment and the environment. Not sure if that was reactive or genuine issues. Not sure engaging in public slanging would help when your husbands employer has a huge ego and wallet..

I've heard through unreliable sources that Mrs Savea has form rubbing people up the wrong way

Welcome to the internet. Why is she bothering to read it?

She’s quite hot which is a reasonable enough excuse for me .
Did comic book guy only watch the 2015 q final and decide based on that?
-
The Top14 highlights program that I watched on Sky last year at the start of the French season. Had Savea, Kaino (and maybe Messam) in the opening credits thingy. In their All Blacks kit rather than their new club kits.
So I guess that shows the marketability of signing an AB like Savea. From a value POV.
Rapidly diminishing value, though.

Well, if people posted awful shit like this about my partner (and mother), I'd be vocal on social media as well:
.
Ffs it's the internet. Why the hell does she choose to engage with trolls on social media? She should just block or ignore them while sitting in her no-doubt spacious and opulent villa in the south of France. Why not embrace the incredible lifestyle she has rather than waste time on that online sewer?

She's not fucken Kim Kardashian but she is reasonably well known and engaging in online trolling when you're in that position is a battle you're never gonna win.
Unless of course you're Hilary Barry cos you get the 'haterz' with sick 'burns'
( according to pathetic stuff.co.nz writers anyway )

Julian needs to be motivated and hungry to do well. I don't think playing well in France is going to motivate him. If he came back and wanted to, he could probably be an All Black again. He's much more limited than Ioane, of course.

Jules will always be the prime example of how speed is such a fickle mistress. She'll make your life a breeze, out running every fucker, then one day she'll pop out to get some milk and never return again, leaving you to pick up the pieces and get mown down from behind.
I'll never disparage ol' treadmill, because he gave me sheer bliss in that black jersey for many many moments. For that short time ( seemingly) he was the perfect last destination from that awesome pack and inside backwork we had under Richie.
The bus fucken ruled!!
Until his speed up and fucked off on him -

Will be really interesting to see how long Ioane lasts.

@MN5 history would say if he stays, we have another 6 years of Rieko...
-
@taniwharugby yeah it's crazy innit? Saw it with Rok, Jane, Nehe, Caleb - oh wait, hang on.
The inevitability of it all is ominous.
Perhaps Mils hung on better than most

@Siam Fullback, not wing, at the end. 27 yrs max only applies to wings, and not wings who transform ie Tana into centre
And not the hybrid-fullback-wing that has played 14 the better part of the last decade.

its become a trademark of our rugby in the modern era ,
And he played his part in keeping the tradition alive

@hydro11 that boat has well and truly sailed. He'd have to wind the clock back to 2015 and earlier to even get on the radar. As has been discussed at length on the fern, you have more chance of finding a unicorn than seeing an AB winger play much after turning 27-28 years of age.
