Who does TSF want to be the next AB coach?

If you go by the bookies there is a 40-45% chance the ABs win this RWC. I suspect those are about Foster's chances of being appointed head coach on his own merits. If he is able to put together his own strong cartel - perhaps higher.
Yeah, I reckon we're 50/50. So not far off the bookies.
With Foster, Wayne Smith jumped in unasked and said basically if you judge him on Super form, you don't accept that people can learn and grow. That, and I was not at all convinced that Hansen would make the step up to head coach from assistant. The role sometimes brings out the best in people.
All that said, I still get nervous about Foster as AB Head Coach. Am a little concerned just typing it

I agree, the WC Result will largely dictate the outcome. If NZ win it would be hard to tell Foster he isn't right for the job. You can only hope his assistants are very good. Conversely if Wales or Ireland win you could imagine Gatland and Schmidts value goes up. It will be interesting for sure.
In Fosters defence, Hansen is no mug and must think highly enough for him to be in his team.

Foster is a very good coach. Just not a good head coach imo.
If Gatland wins the RWC, why would he take on the ABs? To win it with Wales would be the greatest triumph he could ever have. Nothing, but nothing, could top that. He wins it, and he won't take the ABs, I reckon.

Whilst I agree winning the world cup would be hard to beat, Gatland is still first a Kiwi and an All Black. Surely that alone is a big enough driver to want to coach one of the best sides in rugby. I haven't lived in NZ for 16 years yet my pride and support of the All Blacks hasn't changed, I suspect it is the same for Gatland.

Is that Leons doing or the solid foundations Tana has laid?

Hah! Tana just built off what JK left.
and HE just worked from Lam. That's it - Lam is the key; next AB coach

Dave Rennie has shrugged off suggestions that he is in line to coach the Wallabies after the World Cup, saying that he would not quit his role with Glasgow Warriors for the Australian job. Murmurings within Australian rugby circles hinted that Rennie would be Rugby Australiaās favoured option to take over from incumbent coach Michael Cheika from 2020 onwards if Wales coach Warren Gatland and England coach Eddie Jones were unavailable for the position.
However, Rennie put those rumours to rest when quizzed about the topic by The Telegraph. āItās just a bit of speculation, as often happens when thereās a potential job up for grabs,ā he said. āI certainly havenāt spoken to anyone, and my contract with Glasgow takes me through until the middle of 2020. Iād imagine from an international point of view most of these jobs are going to be gobbled up straight after a World Cup. āI knew that was probably going to be the case when I signed on for another season, so itās just speculation. āYou never say never, but what Iāve said is Iām assuming that, like a lot of teams, theyāll probably make changes in coaches immediately after the World Cup. Thatās November 2019. Iām committed here until July 2020, so thatās why itās unlikely.ā

If Foster pulls together a Cartel of Gatland (or Schmidt if there's any of his fluffers still around) and Robertson then fans might feel a little bit more confident.

Has anyone mentioned Ardern....

Def no Gatland for ABs
As head coach. He was never in the picture.
Assistants and technical advisors can jump in and out. Being the incumbet Lions coach may be enough to keep ones ego afloat enough to take such a role under Fozzie.

Tony Brown has thrown his hat in the ring. Makes sense as an Assistant Coach but not the top job.
Razor looking like the firm favourite now, especially if the Crusaders win a third title.
Even if Hansen wins the World Cup??
In which case the favorite would have to be Foster (unfortunately) wouldn't it? -

Foster is not the answer. To any question.

Razor appears to be the 'manager' type that would be competing to take over from Shag in a similar way to Foster would.
I like the innovative thinking of Brown which would bring some fresh ideas.
Question for me would be Foster/Brown or Razor/Brown.O'Halloran is another in the vein of Brown that I rate highly. He looks to have attached himself to team Rennie though.
