Pretty much how most predicted ie, Fury outboxed Whyte.
TBH I can't see any of the top heavyweights beating Fury. He's really awkward, extremely long and unless you can push him around he'll pick you off. He's really hard to hit as well with his length and great body movement for a guys so big.
I've given this some thought around talks of Fury being a GOAT. He's obviously improved over his career, dispatching a number of contenders with differing styles, which in of itself is impressive for a bloke who looks like a new born giraffe. But he'd need to unite the belts and retire undefeated to be considered beyond the best of his generation.
A few years back it was easy to look at even “lesser” heavyweights of the 70s as one example ( Earnie Shavers, George Chuvalo, Ken Norton, Ron Lyle etc ) and say they could beat him. It’s not as clear cut now.
His size, skills and toughness would give anyone from any era at the very least a run for their money.

Parker fighting joe Joyce on 2nd July at Wembley,
That’s a big fight for Joseph when it comes to determining where his career is heading . Most see it as a 50 50 fight.
Joyce is a big big man , While he isn’t at that standard of George foreman , he does fight in a style that is very reminiscent of big george .
Good match up

13-0 all but one by KO and a massive reach advantage over JP ( as everyone seems to these days )
Only turned pro at 31 though ?
Huge fight, very exciting !

Big career move for Joseph basing himself in the uk now , he is living and breathing boxing surrounded by boxing people which he wouldn’t get in Nz , and he is proving to be quite popular there .
If he wins this he is knocking on the door of another title shot somewhere down the track . Winner gets the wbo number 1 ranking .

@kiwiinmelb Hes virtually George Foreman reincarnated. Massive volume puncher with a huge engine despite being very slow letting his hands go.
Parker must work the body imo, similar to what he did against Chisora, throw the uppercut to slow Joyce in his tracks. Joyce has an iron chin and will keep marching forward, but can be hurt to the body as Bryant Jennings showed which he struggled to recover from when the fought.
A real 50/50 this one but I feel Parker can win this one as much as I rate Joyce.

If that’s the case then Parker is no chance, let’s be honest.
Hopefully there’s a bit of hype in that highlighted statement.

I hadn’t seen Joyce fight until just watching some clips. Man he has slow hands but I guess they carry some weight. Not a classical boxer by any stretch. His go to is swinging big alternate hooks, twisting at the waist. Usyk was fast enough to avoid them but most others get caught trying to get inside to neutralise.
Parker’s camp was chasing this so I guess they have seen a way to beat him. I wonder if JPs increased use of the uppercut is part of that plan? Joyce certainly leaves his chin open for it when throwing. -

Pretty certain the former are like being hit by a fast Ferrari and the latter a bigger, slower truck. Both will fuck you up but in different ways.
Just had a look at some footage and the Foreman comparisons are very apt, have a look at the knockout at 32 seconds in !
Joyce looks deceptively ponderous but that power is VERY evident.

What makes Joyce difficult is not just the power ,
Like foreman he just keeps on walking forward and the punches keep coming at you , there is no break .
But it’s not all doom and gloom , he is there there to be hit as well

@African-Monkey , what do you think of Bivol ? Going to test canelo at 175 ?
I have to be honest , while I’ve seen his name around , never sat down and watched him , but the 175 surely will test canelo particularly if he attempts to unify there with the bieterbiev fight .
-
@kiwiinmelb Good technical boxer with a decent Jab and does the fundamentals well, but has a tendency to fight at one pace and isn't one of the big hitters of the division, hence why I think Canelo has chosen him to fight. Can't say I'm a huge fan of his as he struggles to go through the gears.
Having said that, he is still up there with the top of the division and on a fair playing field, I'd back him to beat Canelo, but let's be honest here, everything is stacked in Canelo's favor, we know how boxing politics run the game haha.

Yeah Parker takes breaks during rounds which could be suicide v Juggernaut- he must keep moving at all times and def not sit on the ropes- JJ will not stop hitting- unlike a Chisora type opponent who can throw 3-4 punches then lean and clinch.. Its a tough fight for JP but hopefully a interrim belt WBO or (maybe too soon) a retired Fury WBC belt on the line

Watched a bit of him , he looks a little bit basic , likes the 1-2 , 1-2 , but he is a big man ( 175 is big for canelo )
Reading between the lines I think I have a higher opinion of canelo than you do , but that’s ok
I’m tipping a late canelo stoppage

@kiwiinmelb Oh don't get me wrong, the guy is quality, the left hook to the body and when he fakes it to go up top is a thing of beauty, but not gonna lie he does have the cards stacked in his favour all the time haha.

When you are the a side you are the a side , Floyd was the same . One thing he does better than Floyd is he stays so active
I love watching him fight , but even as a fan I wasn’t happy with the ggg 1 debacle , luckily we haven’t had any controversy like that for a while

Well boxed bivol , so glad we didn’t get a dodgy result
Canelo , well I think has reached his limit , 175 is too much , bit off more than he can chew
