@catogrande yeah we decided to leave our best loosehead and openside out, plus a fifth of the team are returning from injury or illness. Should be evens.
I'm surprised you're not claiming underdog status.

At home in Fortress Twickenham, coming off a resounding win against the last team to beat us, combinations cemented with influential players returning.

@booboo they wouldn't be expecting Goodhue to see out the full 80 either would they?
Not really sure. Umm ... where did I discuss Goodhue?
I think that's referring to the
@gunner - What happens when SBW leaves the field after 20 minutes then Crotty 10 minutes later?
@booboo - Ardie to 2nd 5/8?So... of the 3 mid-fielders, 2 have reputations of breaking down, and the other is playing first game after an infection which causes one to "run out of gas" very very quickly.
Ardie at 2nd 5/8 suddenly looking like something that might really happen.TSF predicts the future once more

England team to play the All Blacks:-
England: Elliot Daly; Chris Ashton, Henry Slade, Ben Te'o, Jonny May; Owen Farrell (co-captain), Ben Youngs; Ben Moon, Dylan Hartley (co-captain), Kyle Sinckler, Maro Itoje, George Kruis, Brad Shields, Sam Underhill, Mark Wilson.
Replacements: Jamie George, Alec Hepburn, Harry Williams, Charlie Ewels, Courtney Lawes, Danny Care, George Ford, Jack Nowell.
I think beer will be my friend on Saturday.
Strong team that will suit England's game plan and purposes well. The return of Chris Ashton and Brad Shields inside knowledge of NZ Rugby will give them a lift. Clever Eddie Jones.

The English coaches are encouraging Itoje to get in the faces of the ABs and be confrontational (i.e., continue to be a penalty magnet). Should be fun as long as Garces hasn't made another deal.
I think you misspelled cock as penalty magnet

The All Blacks are very strong and will be tough to beat.
Thanks for that startling insight Brad.

@bovidae well for the Lions he was allowed to stand on our side of the rucks/mauls, living offside being a general nuisance, so with Garces there, dont think we'll see any more penalties.
If he wants to go all tough guy, great, as long as Garces is up to the task of dealing with it, that I doubt he is...astounding he gets these top gigs.

Interesting Shag saying , we want to play two playmakers ,
The argument he makes seems to make more sense with Beaudy at fullback and Richie and first-five. Having two points of attack to take the defence's focus off one is a great idea in theory, but if the English defence start forcing Barrett to make errors I expect McKenzie to as well. When the poor option taking happens it seems to be contagious with those two.

“We have lots of players doing it – Kyle Sinckler as well – but we see Maro being able to do that because of his stature and because that’s the way he likes to play the game.
“He likes to be confrontational. He likes to get on the front foot and if it’s a strength, we will encourage him to keep pushing at it.
“If you ask people to play that way, there are sometimes going to be penalties around that.”

Call me a doomsdayer but that backline feels very much like a '99/'00 backline. Looks like a Rolls Royce on paper and certainly has the ability to click - but that is far from a guarantee especially when it matters.
The least charitable description of the backline currently is three guys who are liable to freelance and compound mistakes under pressure, a halfback who has been spinning his wheels all international season, a guy dubiously coming back from glandular fever in a matter of weeks and two world class wings.
This isn't to say Barrett isn't a top player, SBW can still have his moments and Smith for most of his career has been sublime - but like the 99/00 teams they could turn it on (especially off set piece and counter attack) but could be frustratingly impotent at times when it mattered.
Prediction: they either flog them 20+ or it's <3.
