Lol Beauden was on a downward trajectory when he finished up at the Canes. I just can't imagine what he'll be like in four years, both parties need to move on after the WC IMO, there's plenty of talent coming through.
-
@Tim well hopefully it is an appropriate remuneration for where I expect he will be in 4 years...I mean if he sticks around, he still has alot to offer, particularly at super and npc (cos really post '24 I don't think he will be an AB still, i mean post RWC will be a stretch) so if it is a kinda mapped out exit from international rugby when he is no longer contributing in black, but the final 2 years of his contract are to 'give back'...

lol fuck he's barely good enough now let alone in 4 years.
Beauden has invoked the Codie Taylor clause. Lendrum must be an easy touch in the contract negotiations.

Anyway Big Red off to Japan

@Machpants yuck terrible news

Not a surprise unfortunately. I think S Harris posted the rumour recently
In the last few years he kept breaking just before the first AB squad of the year was named. Last year he missed the NPC too.. probably not a bad time to cash in given the injuries and head knocks
-
@Duluth yep, one of those players who could have been, but never was.
I think he does stick about for NPC at least, be nice to get a few more games, given last year was an inner ear issue, 2021 was concussion, 2020 was covid.

Blast from the past from a Canes supporter, had no idea he was still playing.
He was playing for Waikato last season before leaving during the NPC to go to SA. Let's just say he moves around.

... But not as quickly as he used to from what I saw

“The facts occurred during a party between players after the winter break. Everyone was gathered to celebrate the new year, just to strengthen ties before the return phase of the championship. The companions and wives were there, but the evening escalated when Jonathan Ruru sank into alcohol.
“An argument then broke out after the 30-year-old scrum-half struck… the wife of one of his teammates! Immediately after this incomprehensible and intolerable gesture, an Aix player inflicted a real correction. Verdict: broken jaw and shoulder. Hospitalised and then operated, Ruru was sent a few weeks later to the European Centre for Sports Rehabilitation in Capbreton for treatment.
