@Duluth yep, one of those players who could have been, but never was.
I think he does stick about for NPC at least, be nice to get a few more games, given last year was an inner ear issue, 2021 was concussion, 2020 was covid.

He was playing for Waikato last season before leaving during the NPC to go to SA. Let's just say he moves around.

“An argument then broke out after the 30-year-old scrum-half struck… the wife of one of his teammates! Immediately after this incomprehensible and intolerable gesture, an Aix player inflicted a real correction. Verdict: broken jaw and shoulder. Hospitalised and then operated, Ruru was sent a few weeks later to the European Centre for Sports Rehabilitation in Capbreton for treatment.

Hirini will complete the HSBC World Series with the Black Ferns Sevens in Toulouse before taking up her contract at the Yokkaichi based Mie PEARLS club. Following the Taiyo Seimei Women’s Sevens Series 2023 Hirini will return to New Zealand to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with the Black Ferns Sevens.
