Is there a reason why you're not going to give @Crucial a hard time for selecting a debutante Italian to stay to meet Japan?
I thought he was Spanish? In any case he debuted over two years ago I reckon.
Argentinian? Debuted just prior to a Rugby championship match against them I think, but yes, as you and @booboo say a well established All Black who is strikingly similar to another player - Romano or something.
This Fafita guy must be new as I would remember a name that sounds like Mexican takeaways. Another bloke, Reid, went on to be an All Black captain.

Possibly from El Salvador.
Reid took over from Ritchie McGraw didn't he?

The 19: Nehe Milner-Skudder, David Havili, George Bridge, Matt Proctor, Ngani Laumape, Brett Cameron, Bryn Hall, Mitchell Drummond, Luke Whitelock, Gareth Evans, Dillon Hunt, Jackson Hemopo, Luke Romano, Angus Ta’avao, Tyrel Lomax, Reuben O’Neill, Tim Perry, Liam Coltman, Asafo Aumua.
Japan test 23?
Barrett (J), Naholo, NMS, Proctor, Laumape, Mo'unga, TTT, Whitelock (L), Fifita, Papali, Patty T, BBBR, Ofa, Coles, Perry.
Bench: Hall, Cameron, Bridge, Hunt, Romero, Ta'avao, Coltman, O'Neill.
Swap RM for DMac at 10 IMO. They will want to settle RM in the UK, DMac has more squad experience to draw on.
Don't think BBBR will stay in Japan either. Romero to start with Hemopo on benchI have sympathy with DMac view. But don't you think BBBR will be a bit undercooked for Poms with only 30 minutes under his belt?
Up until this year, I would have agreed but when BBBR came back from that long lay-off and played for the chiefs for 80 mins and was MOM and absolutely dominated at full tilt, I have confidence he can do it with a 30 min return 'warm-up'
Same deal with Liam Squire. No way that he would ever have benefited from playing a warm up game in the M10 Cup semi last weekend after a month out injured.
Unlike Joe Moody - he desperately needed game time, because.....
...well, because Daniel Lienert-Brown was banned for head-butting and the Canterbury scrum was going to be in the shit!
Fucking Canterbury Mafia - that's dodgy as fuck!
-
Weather is looking pretty dodgy for tomorrow. Probably 15-18 degrees but thunderstorms are predicted - at this time of year that could mean things get very wet, very quickly.
Some may be interested to know that although Japan has a rainy season, more rainfall usually happens in October, but it’s less predictable and usually associated with Typhoons. Great for the WC, ah?

There really is a Merhts shaped batsign that gets broadcast every time a Canterbury player is mentioned, right?

Schroedinger's bench
The position occupied by the 24th player is not reserve looseforward it's the quantum superposition, and he is simultaneously alive and dead?
-
Simultaneously on the bench and in the stands, yes.
Shoulders look a little low to me there, tut tut

They are preparing for Japan?
-
Yep. I’ll be there.
We have a babysitter, so I was planning to get hammmmmmmmmered. Then the wife told me that I have to come home looking like a real person*. I’m not sure wtf the point was of getting them if we have to impress them when we get home.
*possibly because it’s my sister in-law who thinks I’m a drunk.

It would be a shame to disappoint her 🤪. Lots of big pissheads in Japan anyways. I might be acquiring a ticket to one of the SFs in Japan next year. Have provisionally booked accommodation in Shinjuku. Is the train from Shinjuku to Yokohama pretty easy?
-
We’ve got tickets to the Q3/Q4 semi already. Beersies?
For transport, yes and no.
Probably the easiest way is ride the metro (Fukutoshin which becomes Toyoko) from Sanchome to Kikuna then change to Yokohama line for one station. Alternatively, Shonan-Shinjuku to Yokohama (JR line) then change to Yokohama line for two or three stops to Shin-Yokohama.
