Things have changed quickly for Tuipulotu. A week and a half ago people were wondering when he'd return to the NPC
If it was world cup year, I'd want Romano.
I don't really rate Pat T.
Has anyone underwhelmed at AB level as much as Pat T in recent years? I think he's had a charmed ride by the AB selectors.

Apparently SBW still sick, so been withdrawn, Goodhue to the bench.
-
i want SBW's job. Pulling in a massive pay packet for having the same impact on test matches that i am
-
@mariner4life you will have to start believing in something though....

Pretty predictable team - main surprise for me is seeing Coltman on the bench. But, in some ways that's not surprising because I'm sure Hansen is not missing what everyone else is seeing in terms of Harris' lineout throwing and patience must be wearing thin. Big chance for Coltman to edge his way ahead IMO.
Midfield was slightly surprising - I thought they'd be trying to get as many tests as possible into Goodhue, but as someone mentioned - they tend to give the young guys a break to reflect pretty quickly.
Jordie getting a run ahead of Naholo the other slight surprise, but I guess we were due for that re-arrangement.

@antipodean snap!!

I know they have protocols and will have access to good medical advice, but I'd of been tempted to give Crotty and Cane the rest of TRC off.
Respectfully, this is classic Fern/Internet/Media naval gazing. I'm not having a pop at you - aimless speculation is what we're here for - but I'm OK with their call.
it's kind of: I know they have all the medical records and specialists giving us advice, but I think they are WRONG! It's a small step to THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU VACCINATE! WAKE UP SHEEPLE! YOUR GOVERNMENT IS LYING TO YOU!
There's a joke about boats but I can't think of it ...

I would still prefer BFA to remain at fullback. SBW would have started but for his illness during the week. That tells us who their no.1 midfield combo is, as we all knew.
Happy that Harris has been put on notice.
I'd be happy, except Coltman has been selected. I didn't even know he was in the squad and he barely performs at Super level - has a bushy beard though (Hmm, does he still have his beard?)

Maybe you've only got eyes for Dixon. Coltman's problem seems to be being injured regularly.
@akan004 Yeah, I'd really like Taukei'aho to get more opportunities at the Chiefs.

I'm not a fan of Dixon (he's not born or bred Bay you know ) and don't think Coltman is any better than him.
The gap between Coles and Taylor to the next best seems gigantic at the moment.

A massive show of faith by the AB selectors in Patty T. Good luck to the big man.
Whilst not being a standout, thereβs two tests that I remember where his impact off the bench (along with Faumuina) were huge for us. Ball carrying and ruck work was superb.

What? Barely performs? I get that you hate the South Island but making stuff up isn't going to help. He's often very good for the Highlanders and has been good in his AB appearances.
