@nepia We should have got quite wealthy out of the Marshall Plan as well - need to speak with James and Tom about that money...
Maybe the wrong Marshall, seems to be Justin who distributes the wealth of compliments to his former enemies and allies.

@nepia We are the Switzerland of the South.
The Cantabs like the Germans have looked east to find more extreme versions of their bogan-selves - in Hawkes Bay!
Hmmm, yes I can see it, Switzerland stored stolen Nazi gold and art and Ta$man stores stolen loose forwards.
Where does Hawkes Bay stand in all this ?
Heroic Russian tanks who advanced and ended the war?

I liked Moody's try. Showed great strength. Very unheralded player, but does a shit load of work in tight and hits like a train.
That was a great try. Hope Owen Franks watches some replays, look what can happen when a big strong prop hits the ball at top speed.
In Owen's case that's 3 mph though?
Again, for a guy who is very possibly the strongest bloke in the team his lack of power as a ball carrier is baffling.
It’s not baffling if you understand basic physics....he’s almost certainly the slowest in the team.
Kinetic energy = 1/2 mass x velocity squared
Well yeah but he also loves his Olympic weightlifting and that builds explosiveness like nothing else.
I know the franks family reasonably well, they don't do much olympic lifting (if any at all) it's mainly squats and deadlifts.
Having run beside him at the gym a few times I can confirm he's so slow it's almost funny.
This did make me chuckle, however the internet says you're completely wrong.

given Cane has had alsmot as many head knocks as Crotty, maybe we need to look at leaving him out for a period too?
So that slots Savea firmly in the drivers seat (looked a bit more physical than normal last night too, although against a beaten Wallaby pack) but who is the next 7 off the ranks?
I'm leaning towards Papali'i.Worth a go IMO, he's into everything.

It’s a video from 2012, hardly conclusive proof

Tiny Hawkes Bay as Russia? Hardly likely. We're more like a plucky Netherlands, formerly had a huge Empire (1926 Shield reign and all), fought hard for a few days, never rolled over like the French when they were occupied. Many of our troops continued the fight from other areas (Franchises and Provinces).

Shush Belgium, we're the Netherlands.

He’s very Cane-esque and may not get much time at 7, but looks a natural for the AB 7 game.

No way are you an Allied nation if the crusaders/canterbury are Germany. you are vassals, sending your players there. HB posters are even vocal fans of the regime.
You are not even important enough to be Italy. you are Romania. Deal with it.

Well i hardly think he became weaker over that period. There's another one of him rack cleaning 165kg which is a weight many of his teammates would be deadlifting so yeah, he's a unit and a half who should be breaking more tackles. Can you have a word with him when you see him next? Cheers.

@mariner4life Do the Romanians do spelling just by putting their "d's" upside down?
So Nepia is in fact Nadia?

You sent them their current Fuhrer! So you're actually Austria.
I think you'll find BoP and HB had the same number of Crusaders players this year ... also you can't judge us all by @Stargazer's sins.
I think I'd rather be the Spanish Blue Division than Romania.

But, he's behind fern favourite and God on earth Blake Gibson in the Auckland pecking order!
Dalton will play six while Gibson is fit. He’s a beast, and is a massive pest on the field, into everything.
Out of the two of them, I have no doubt Dalton will be an All Black. Gibson needs a run without injury to have his shot.

Yeah, he's looks the business - and Auckland have a pretty good starting trio at the moment, easily the best in the NPC.
-
@mn5 At international level they'll tackle you every time if you are slow and not agile. Being stronger doesn't help. You need to get the opponent into a weak position.
Otherwise a guy like Ben Tameifuna could merely roll through people (and he's actually quite quick for a big boy).
Hence Ben Smith, hardly a monster, can break tackles. And Franks can't.
-
Not sure where to post but Conor Murray possibly out for the Autumn series (Munster have signed Alby Mathewson). That’s the Irish game plan up in smoke if true, the alternative 9s are nowhere near the same class.

Maybe it comes down to the quality of the coaching, the reverse of what we see in RL where there is a dearth of good NZ coaches. Individually, Aust has some world class players but can't seem to get the best out of them, on a consistent basis.
I'm still picking them to beat SA in Brisbane.
I think thats the Aussies biggest problem.
