Bledisloe II

@mariner4life yep, from the wide angle you thought those 2 coming toward one another had him, but the little fend and he was gone...pure unadulterated speed

I'm not going to post the link but I read what the Walrus had to say about this game. He was very complimentary but probably wrote that through gritted teeth. The most amusing part, which he acknowledges, is that the scores in Bled I and II does put the Irish series win into context. The NH scribes won't be able to criticise the Wallabies too much without diminshing that achievement.

@taniwharugby are we talking about the same try?

Not sure he is but to be fair B.B scored around 11 tries during the game.

The more i watch Barrett's fourth try (it's ridiculous even typing that by the way) the more i think it's going to take some catching as try of the year.
His 1st fourth try or 2nd fourth try? (5th try)
My favourite was his legit 3rd try. Hooper was in no man's land.

Just terrible defence from the Wallabies. Why on earth you'd rush out of your defensive line like that as captain, leaving a massive hole for Beaudy to run through is mystifying.
Same as Squires' try - simple lack of communication leaving Squire unmarked. Peach of a pass but.

I liked Moody's try. Showed great strength. Very unheralded player, but does a shit load of work in tight and hits like a train.

interesting point made by Hansen in his presser about the ABs should be getting funding fro HP Sports NZ.
It will no doubt get plenty of others up in arms, but at the end of the day, they must meet all the criteria the likes of rowing, cycling etc are held to for thier funding, just because they are for the most part, self sustainable, does that mean they shouldnt get funding?
The Tall Black, White Ferns and a bunch of others I expect all play in sports that they could be self sustainable if they were good enough, but I expect they get funding?

Actually if you want to complain about dirty play, check out Pocock's tackle on BB when he scored the the first try. Came in off side and took him around the neck.
The guy is a farking grub, but hides behind the halo and jazz hands.

And yet the SMH media are busy complaining about how he was targeted at the breakdown. And today his neck is really stiff and sore. Well, if that's the measure I didn't realise most of my life I was playing Test rugby. Fuck a duck.

All their tears ain’t helping this one bit

@antipodean just highlights how 'fans' like shiny things, the bits that stand out...checking out some posts on Insta, people love the guy.
-
@mariner4life possibly not...I'm talking the one in the 61st min when BB scorched the earth from 50m out...pure rugby porn!

given how these usually go, it's probably the one that will get nominated.
But the try of the night was his last one, where BBBR ripped the ball, TJP flung it wide, DMac skinned Simmons, gave it to ALB who draws and puts B Smith away, and when he didn't have the wheels we still had BBarrett left. I got a fat.
-
@mariner4life mate plenty of stiffy moments in that game!
Think that was the break where Dmac got judo flipped after he passed it?

That was a great try. Hope Owen Franks watches some replays, look what can happen when a big strong prop hits the ball at top speed.
