@mariner4life maybe they have been reading all your posts moaning about how predictable the squads have been and how boring it is

it's really nice to have something to bitch about. The player drain is finally having a positive benefit. And it's taking the heat of some other bench players...

Isn't Hansen's selection of Laumape really about player development ? (and getting mariner's tits in a tangle)
Don't want to jinx us but we have the wood on Oz and its Eden Park. Hansen can afford to try this out. I think ALB is actually ahead of Laumape in the real pecking order, i.e., if we were playing for the World Cup.
fair point. If you are locked in to Crotty and SBW in the midfield mix, then you had better develop another 2 players to cover the many, many tests they are unavailable for.

thats the thing isnt it, if SBW & Crotty were fit, they would be starting and I expect this to be the plan thorugh to the RWC unless one of ALB, Goodhue or Laumape really put thier hand up with some consistently high standard of performances to make the selectors rethink things.

that's a shit plan. based on history, what are the chances of that midfield making it through 3 knockout games in 3 weeks?
So Crotty can play all his rugby at 12, but be considered a starting 13, but ALB can't go the other way? These fluffybunnies are making shit up on the fly
-
@mariner4life not saying I agree with the plan, but that's the impression I get of what the plan is a year out from the RWC....I might be wrong, it happened once before.
-
Are you new here? Stats do back up my assertion of the missed tackles, but I'm happy to agree that I'm speculating based on my half-drunk observations, and especially since I started that last post with 'I basically agree' (i.e., ALB should be there starting), I wonder why your panties are so bunched up. I guess shit has been so boring for so long, even this little debate is fun? If we were picking for a WC final (as @Frank mentioned, I'm sure that ALB would be starting anyway).
I haven't had a chance to watch a replay, but I may get a chance today, in which case I'll check where ALB was defending, because they seemed to switch around a lot. I may have mistook those defensive errors.
-
@gt12 Stats are irrelevant. Hansen hasn't picked ALB and @mariner4life has a poster of ALB in his bedroom.

I agree, but you should join me on the Tongan Frizell train, Laumape is good enough to be AB and plays enough to be an AB, and has been in the squad on merit before.

stats are irrelevant. viewing a game as fluid as rugby through the prism of stats is fraught with danger
and @gt12 if i don't rark up about this, i have to work, and who wants to do that?
Rugby is entertainment, nothing more. The All Blacks win all the time, no matter who we pick, or how we play. If we sit back and just roll with everything based purely on the result, where is the entertainment? It's got to the point where the antagonist of the All Blacks movie is the coach and selectors. Can the rest of the rugby world please wake the fuck up?

Frizzel Fry can't even make the team. Waste of energy railing against a dude holding hit shields. What we really need is for someone to completely shit the bed in a test. It's been a while now.

He shouldn't be in the squad at all (he shouldn't be in any NZ squads, close the borders!!!).
I'm a fan of ALB but this just doesn't get me riled up.

of course it doesn't, you never actually threw away your 'canes jersey when you shamelessly jumped ship. A lot like Frizzel did actually. You two have a lot in common.

I never owned a Canes jersy, I'm too cheap to pay $120 for one.
Anyway, I'm fully on the Laumape train now: Maori-Tongan Jesus is the man.

look, why don't you toddle off and watch Phipps and Foley lose test after test for the Wallabies and leave the grown ups to talk
-
You brought it up. Before I toddle off, would you like me to collect your toys?

could you? easier for me to throw them again.

I just had a look on TAB but they dont seem to have put odds up yet for Franks to score 'a' try, might be worth a dollar or 2, if it blows out might be a sentimental pass to him over the tryline for him to fumble...
