Does that mean Beale moves to fullback ? Which makes them weaker in 2 positions

They should put Banks at fullback. That kid needs to be in their starting XV.

If that's the Brumbies fullback then yeah I agree. Or Hodge to the back maybe? Otherwise Matt Burke.

Who was the one egging Peyper on to pull out a yellow card? Wouldn't shut the fuck up about it. Peyper ignored him about 12 times. Was that Barnes??

Barnes must be absolutely fucking kicking himself today for having missed the illegal Naholo strip that resulted in the Goodhue try.

@kiwimurph possibly Naholo to 11, BFA to 14 and JB to 15.

Tough call. Loathe to move BFA who looked good at the back. He's been great at 14 in the past though so perhaps Frances he was just off his game a bit and is now back in form.

Jordie probably makes the cut as our next best wing is well off the pace.

@crucial I agree. Looked like Folau twisted into that position so Peyper got it right.

Good response in the second half but FFS getting a bit tired of those telegraphed passes and forcing the issue. A Smith and Barrett were both guilty. Pushing the envelope too much. ALB and Goodhue were good and ALB was no step down from Crotty. Have seen much from Goodhue but he was solid and good on defense. Just need to be eliminate the sloppy passes and it would have been a rout. For the mistakes Naholo makes he certainly makes up for it in offense.

    @rotated

He makes that same tackle with the French refs and I bet you for all money it’s a red, especially if it is on NH tour. Really reckless to put yourself in that position. Still totally agree with the non call but why put yourself at the refs mercy.

Just reading back through some angst online.

It would appear that the ABs forgot they were ABs for around 37 minutes, them remembered they were the ABs and that was that.

    🤔

    About right?

I see Rattue has called Retallick the greatest forward of the modern era.

Which is weird considering next week’s article about how it’s time for Brodie to retire.

@billy-tell cant remember which COmms it was last night going on about BBBR's performance being the greatest forward one of the modern era.

He was good, but I'd not go that far.

I'd say the best performance from a lock since Ian Jones almost single handedly took on an opponent in the early to mid 90s. Was it one of the games VS the World XV or maybe SA in 1994?

    World XV I think.

Wasn't bad in some game that didn't happen in Joburg in 95 either

"I think the Aussies have to stick with Pocock/Hooper. It gives them something different."

... the opportunity to perfect their synchronised chirping at the referee every second time he picks on them - first Hoopla! who has his whinge and almost invariably just gives the ref a vacant stare after hearing his rebuff; followed by Bono, who may well believe he ought to be Captain, whining about the opposition.

Last night I overheard him say "I disagree with that!" to Peyper and something else, Jaco (appearing astonished and puzzled) said "But he's retired" (my lip reading), and Bono retorted "That doesn't mean McCaw didn't cheat right in front of you and you let him get away with it! What makes him so special?"

It happened quickly, near the edge of the screen - you may have missed it.

    Surely that’s not true.

@stargazer well the comment was, but TBH I think if I was Fifita, I'd be a bit frustrated at how that panned out.

He probably would, as he wouldn't quite get the nuance that Fifita needs to play more 6 to be considered there. Hemopo and Barrett don't.

Fifita is not suited to playing anywhere in the forwards given his attitude towards putting in the hard yards. I'm very comfortable with him never making the ABs again unless he has a dramatic change in attitude. He's the polar opposite of BBBR.
