Just watched this morning and now had a look at some posts and social media.
Though Naholo was a tad lucky not to pick up a YC for that tackle, another ref woulda sent him.
BBBR beast...although the turnover he got that lead to his try probably shouldn't have been as he didn't give Genia a chance to release, but those kind of momentary calls are tough anyway.
That Goodhue kid went alright, except that time he took out his midfield partner...reckon they could start him and ALB next week.
Made a few dollars off him as I had some on him to score a try.
Some comments on social media was that was a shit first half, I thought it was solid, sure we made errors but Aus played well and put us under pressure and we were forced to defend a lot.
AB supporters are a a tough crowd for sure. We lacked execution in the first half, but hey it's the first TRC hit out for the year, and against a highly motivated opponent. I didn't think BB was as bad as many give him credit for, the aussies defended like demons in the first half and generally played really well without troubling our try line. We came out sharper in the second 40 and ripped them a new one. I'm reasonably satisfied

Don't be ridiculous. The Wallaby supporter I had to deal with at half time fitted that role.
We're playing to a pattern and our five-eighth did that. Our attack is reasonably predictable in the first half, but it affords us opportunities in the second stanza. The Wallabies were picking it well and committed which makes them play a certain way in defence.
One we were slightly more patient and passes stuck, we eviscerated them.
This. With those patterns and a committed rush defence any flyhalf will have difficulties creating anything. What are your options? Shift it or get hammered. But apparently certain people here expect miracles.
My criticisms would be with his kicking. His goal kicking as usual, but his kicking in general play has been pretty poor. Certainly a work on there.

@crucial have been plenty of other examples where the tacklee has contributed to the tip and the tackler ends up with a YC.

Hansen is paying what I consider lip service to Laumape but I don't think for a second that he'll do anything other than retain the combination that wound up playing most of the test last night. I said earlier in the thread that ALB at 12 with Goodhue could be our long term combination but this may just happen sooner than I thought should they continue to play like that.

Apparently, Rieko is not "in doubt" but "ruled out".
"He's been knocked out [Crotty] so he won't play next week," Hansen said. Nor does the coach expect winger Rieko Ioane to back up after succumbing to a hamstring injury early in the second half.Surely that bit about Crotty is an understatement? Give the guy a decent rest, let his head recover from this latest knock and don't let him play for the rest of the year. Then he can get back (hopefully) to Super Rugby and the ABs in 2019.
And Rieko already rule out. Wonder whether they'll call up someone as injury cover, and if so, who. Or will they just go with Naholo on the left wing and Nehe on the right?

Highlight of the match for me - Franks for the first time in his career goes through the tackler rather than dropping at his feet. Is so shocked that after being tackled he literally holds the ball up in the air and presses it into the waiting arms of the nearest wallaby.
Watching that first half was tough, but taking it in context with the second half I reckon it's easy to see great tactics at play. Our skills have really regressed since Byrne left though, that's the worrying bit.
I can see why Mounga is still sitting in the wings. That's quite the high pressure game plan to run, Barrett's experience carries that well. A newbie might not cope so well.
Naholo lucky and oddly I thought he was a bit cake, just not a good decision maker at the moment.
Oh and Harris. Why?

@stargazer I guess the only positive is thus far, he obviously hasnt suffered the ongoing symptoms the likes of Ngatai did despite numerous knocks, but the simple fact he keeps taking these knocks to the head, however innocuous is very concerning for his long term wellbeing.

I think the Aussies have to stick with Pocock/Hooper. It gives them something different. Ireland struggled to deal with it big time. They have two locks in their team, no reason they should be losing so much set piece ball. They didn't really play badly last night. Just conceded too many penalties. We win games without ball and field position so when you give it to us, you lose by 25.

@shark They might have tried both, but Moody certainly had a couple of games there. Wasn't a roaring success and wasn't persisted with.

Yeah I was disappointed in his basic errors. Dying with the ball. He tries to get involved in too many breakdowns, mostly ineffective. Needs to be more patient.

Folau was happy to flip to try and get the ball away and went with the momentum.Naholo was lucky because the tackle occurred 2 metres from AR Wayne Barnes. Genuinely was hoping for a yellow as a best case when I spotted that on the first replay.

Watching a replay , at the time I was frustrated during that first half ,
But watching again , our defence was sound , the handling errors were a result of us trying to up the tempo against an aggressive defence,
With the benefit of hindsight it paid off in the end
