holy crap, Martin Stewart has resigned at Sky and heading back to europe.
Pity, he seemed to be moving the business forward, and actually doing some effective things.

I signed up yesterday.
Love test cricket.
I had intended signing up earlier. Actually watched the first T20 game on FTA, and watching top edges over the keeper go for 6 just made me hold back for a bit. Like lineout drive tries, makes me hate the sport I love a little bit.
However. Unlike the Chiefs pink jersey on SR return which killed my enthusiasm, which made me not turn sky sport back on (and lasted the whole season), in this case I only held out for 2 days.

No interest is signing up. Not worth the money for me when I have Sky Sport. I can get my cricket fix from the radio, going to games and Sky still have BBL and Aussie cricket. The Windies and Pakistan rarely put on good shows. The Aussies are the only interesting challenge for this summer.
I'm doing the same - back to the 1980s listening on the radio.
Will be the first time in 20 years I won't be watching NZ cricket on TV. Will be an interesting experiment to see whether it makes my summer better or worse.

Finally caved and resubscribed. The Spark Sport app on android is fucking hopeless. It will play the highlights packages, but nothing live.
eh? I'm casting live from the app as I type. PM me if you want some screenshots
alternatively, try the desktop app

Yep, it works on the laptop but not my phone at the moment.... bah humbug.

@Donsteppa cool.
It seems fundamentally different to Sky. There are no 'channels' - you have to go looking for the sport you want.
Note that there are three separate streams - one for each session. For some reason Spark don't automatically load the next one either. That said, I think the quality is better than Sky Sport Now

Yeah, having to switch between sessions seems unnecessary. It's not like it makes up part of a 24-hour channel that requires compartmentalising into segments.

if you are physically or virtually in the UK you can watch it streaming live on the NZC You Tube channel.

The session highlights package are things of beauty.
Full of plays and misses, lbw appeals, inside edges to pads, dropped catches ..... plus the boundaries and wickets obviously.
Compared to sky lazy effort day-highlights . Which were just boundaries and wickets, including 3 or 4 replays of each boundary even if it was just a mundane punch-block with a modern super bat.
The Spark day highlights are mediocre, short, though.

An ironic solution, boot up a five year old Samsung phone, install app, and it will cast from that. Just not from a 2020 model...!
I've had some pretty inconsistent results casting to my Sony 4K TV with the NZ sports apps.
Have ended up finding that Spark Sports works best on the app I installed on the TV. And Sky Sport works best played from the app I installed on the PS4. Casting either has been really choppy.
Casting to my little 32 inch Kogan TV has been seamless every time for both though.

interesting - I tried SkySportNow on the PS/4 and the quality seemed a lot worse than casting. Plain old HD though, none of this fancy dancy 4k/8k stuff

Dropping in for a now customary Spark Sport rant. After watching so much cricket lately on Sky, going back to a match on Spark Sport is such a let down.
Jerky coverage and about three dropouts so far from the Super Smash in less than half an hour today. No such problems with any other streaming service at any time...
