No interest is signing up. Not worth the money for me when I have Sky Sport. I can get my cricket fix from the radio, going to games and Sky still have BBL and Aussie cricket. The Windies and Pakistan rarely put on good shows. The Aussies are the only interesting challenge for this summer.

Has anyone seen any recent news on how Spark Sport is tracking? The article below is from last month, but was the first sign of some possible change

It'll be interesting to see how many do sign up for the cricket. I'm holding out till the last possible minute... (free to air on Friday night, at the ground yesterday, I almost hit "add Spark Sport" tonight until I saw the rain resume outside ๐Ÿ™‚ ). I'll cave eventually and sign up, but I wonder how many people won't...

Analyst sees Spark-Sky deal as 'first white flag'

"The start of a way out for Spark," one analyst says. The telco responds.

For some reason I always look forward to the cricket season compared to the start of the rugby season.

I have avoided but will definitely join as I want to be able to watch the test match starting Thursday!

I think the casting vote at our place will be the six year old expecting to see the Black Caps rather than Oz (for five minutes, before he runs out to the front garden to start his own game).

on the plus side, Spark handles streaming better than Sky as far as I can tell. Start either at teh beginning, or live. I think the quality is better, but need a bigger sample to tell

@Donsteppa I signed up yesterday ahead of the test which meant I was able to watch mighty Fulham down Leicester ๐Ÿ™‚ - although TBH that meant I watched a few minutes here and there. Was good to watch te last 10 live though. Quality was good

holy crap, Martin Stewart has resigned at Sky and heading back to europe.

Pity, he seemed to be moving the business forward, and actually doing some effective things.

    I signed up yesterday.

    Love test cricket.

I had intended signing up earlier. Actually watched the first T20 game on FTA, and watching top edges over the keeper go for 6 just made me hold back for a bit. Like lineout drive tries, makes me hate the sport I love a little bit.

However. Unlike the Chiefs pink jersey on SR return which killed my enthusiasm, which made me not turn sky sport back on (and lasted the whole season), in this case I only held out for 2 days.

I'm doing the same - back to the 1980s listening on the radio.

Will be the first time in 20 years I won't be watching NZ cricket on TV. Will be an interesting experiment to see whether it makes my summer better or worse.

Finally caved and resubscribed. The Spark Sport app on android is fucking hopeless. It will play the highlights packages, but nothing live.

    @Donsteppa cool.

It seems fundamentally different to Sky. There are no 'channels' - you have to go looking for the sport you want.

Note that there are three separate streams - one for each session. For some reason Spark don't automatically load the next one either. That said, I think the quality is better than Sky Sport Now

The doubly annoying thing is that app works and casts properly on Mrs Steppa's identical phone, but not on mine... restarts and reinstalls just end up in more swearing at the app ๐Ÿ™‚

An ironic solution, boot up a five year old Samsung phone, install app, and it will cast from that. Just not from a 2020 model...!

Yeah, having to switch between sessions seems unnecessary. It's not like it makes up part of a 24-hour channel that requires compartmentalising into segments.

Do folks realise itโ€™s streamed live in the TAB app?

Thatโ€™s how Iโ€™ve been watching the last few days
