Hurricanes v Chiefs

Good game to watch, now to switch over for the Black Ferns

@machpants jordie def seems faster this season, made some great covering tackles tonight. 🖒

Fucking Chiefs backs. As organised as a herd of cats
They're as organised as their first five allows. Dmac is too much like a headless chook.

Well I'll take that, especially after last weeks performance. Chiefs are always bloody tough so you've gotta enjoy any win over them, even if they are hit hard by injuries.
The Barrett brothers are just awesome. Said it last week but if Beauden goes down then Jordie has to move to 10 - we must have one of them controlling the game as much as possible.
Really loving Laumapes work, error free and extremely strong on defense and with ball in hand - great attributes for test footy.
@Stargazer is right about Evans, he's been excellent for us this year, doing some great work at the back of the scrum.
The Canes juggernaut rolls on, good times.

How well is Solomon Alaimalo playing..?,,frustrating that Tana could not see this kids talent when he was running around for the Blues development squad back in 2016..

He's excellent, and always making positive contributions with few errors. Looks a real class player, big future ahead of him.

@no-quarter he’s a great story, was in the Canterbury system as a young fella, got into a bit of trouble as young guys do,so his parents sent him to Melbourne ,Former Northland Assistant coach Dale McLeod who coached him at Sydnam in Christchurch bought him back to NZ .he made the Northland team in his first year, his talent was plainly obvious.

So the casualties of this game:
Obviously, Aidan Ross is the main casualty for the Chiefs. According to the article below it's season ending. In the interview with Michaela Blyde (his partner) after the second Black Ferns game, she said he has a broken ankle.
The Canes lost Sam Henwood (concussion), before the game Sam Lousi (?), at the end of the game Wes Goosen (jaw?), and - according to the article below - Fatialofa and Laumape also weren't 100% after the game (I can't remember what happened to them during the game).
These derbies are brutal.

@stargazer certainly wouldn't be averse to seeing Laumape/Crotty. Thompson into 13 when Crotty gets injured.
Laumape/Crotty is as similar to Nonu/Smith as you could wish for
-
@kiwiinmelb I'd tend to disagree quite strongly there - Laumape is not even close to the player Nonu is - he's brutal, but the things that put Nonu above his peers (superb vision, deft passing, brilliant decisions), don't really feature in his arsenal. I can see him developing these assets though from the huge improvement he's shown in the last 2 years.

I’d say Laumape/Goodhue is more similar
