England V Australia

@antipodean I knew the result and saw the stats - just wanted to see the individual performances and prove that, while impressive against Japan, a Kerevi/TK midfield wasn't ever going to be enough against top tier.

Good luck both teams.
You do realise this is England and Australia?
Having lived here for 15 years I guess I should show some type of good will towards Straya.

Aussies have improved , and I do think they can do it ,
But im going to tip England , for no other reason , than they seem to have their measure psychologically in recent times , seem to enjoy playing them
8 from the last 10 I think it is , that is a pretty healthy percentage ,
but im kind of going for the Aussies , to fly the flag for SH rugby and all that , but it just feels weird saying it

Go Australia.
I feel sick.
Not going to your extreme Raz.
I'll settle for "un-go England!"
-
who's the Ref? Go Him!
Seriously, I reckon Aus could sneak it.

If I see the game it will be in a pub in Edinburgh so, like everyone else there, I will be cheering for non-England

That's a nice thought but we have boatloads of Aussies and Kiwis living over here for years and to a man (Source: Cato's bigotry stats, 2002-17) they never show any good will towards England. So don't sweat it mate.

I see this game as pretty even. Aus are in good form but then England are at Twickenham. I very much like the look of this England side though and could see things being settled by use of the bench. If Eddie gets that right I feel we could sneak it.
Either way I shall be sitting in the South Stand having had a fair bit of Fullers London Pride and will be contemplating more of the same no matter the result.

Not worth a thread on its own, so thought I'd post it here. Tom Croft has been forced to retire through injury. Only 31 despite him seemingly being around forever. I always thought that if being played in an attacking game plan, he was far and away our best 6 during his time. Blighted by injuries though. "Only" 40 England caps but 5 for the Lions as well. Marks him out as something a cut above.
I can still recall his try v France. Some iffy French tackling but if an international centre had scored the try it would have been lauded. It's the first one on this montage.
-
@catogrande the Vaea Fifita of his time. The guy had some serious toe and whilst he did develop into a pretty decent player, he promised so much more than injuries allowed him to be.

I remember the Straya-Pom game in 2015 WC... sitting in a bar in Wales, and having no idea who I wanted to win. You can't really cheer for either of those teams.
Until the game started, and I started willing Australia on... fucking odd feeling, but the joy of England being kicked out at Pool Stage outweighed the nausea of cheering Straya.
Ozzie ozzie ozzie, oi oi oi. -

Steady on chap! Leave that kind of talk for the Brexit threads! I'll quite happily expound an "Un-go Australia!".

FYI Oz team is: Sio, TPN, Kepu, Coleman, Simmons, Hanigan, Hooper, McMahon, Genia, Foley, Hodge, Kerevi, Kuridrani, Koroibete, Beale. Subs: Moore, Robertson, Alaalaatoa, Philip, McCalaman, Timani, Phipps, Hunt, Speight (one to omit).
Surprised they didn't bring Hunt in, I'm not a fan of our midfield. That said we have three playmakers in that backline, so I hope to see the ball get wide as much as possible.
The England side looks bloody solid, I must say. I think we're still a fair way off them, so I'd tip England by 10-15.
Adam Coleman ruled out at the captain’s run. His replacement is Blake Enever. Speight is the player that has been omitted.
