Why are they taking Crotty off? Should have been SBW!
SBW was 10 minutes fresher. And aside from the obvious had been playing well.

I have to say the sounds coming in this thread from everyone back home on a Sunday morning are a heck of a lot like whinging as soon as the team starts making errors
Feel free to cheerlead the mistakes then.
No, just some comments here are stupidly over the top, blaming the ref for our fuck ups and looking to lynch anyone that makes an error.
You realise where you're posting?

One of my takeaways from this game is that Romano looks to be an excellent scrumming lock. Another is that we should be playing Matt Todd as often as possible
Not in front of Cane. He was awesome.
But Todd >> Savea presently

@act-crusader he captained the Baabaa game didn't he? just woulda thought with Whitelock out there, he was a more suitable leader.
They know what Whitelock can do when it comes to leadership. I think it’s more a case of letting other younger guys develop ala Cane at World Cup.
Whitelock will probably hang em up around the same time as Read, so better to have given those chances to others for the future is probable where they see value.

Haha mark Watson going off....after the wobbly loss he was demanding an apology now he says NZR is the most well resourced and poorly run organization in the world.
All you needed to say is "Mark Watson".
Fluffyrabbit hates, absolutely HATES, rugby.
Is not even subtle.
First XV must have stolen his boyfriend at school.
He's a dick and a troll who for some reason has been given a microphone by NZme because winding up dickheads to get talkback calls apparently equals ratings and advertising revenue.
Would take ZERO creedance from his rantings.
A bitter fucked up loser quite frankly.

Hearing Mark Watson genuinely makes me pine for Murray Deaker
This.
Deaker could actually recognise good performances.

That English fluffybunny commentator. What a grade A fuckwit! Reminded me of those English "fans" that you got popping up around 2003, probably thinks anyone brown in the ABs is poached. Among other doozeys, a couple of standouts for me:
-
Calling for Ofa to be sent off for cleaning out Vaamahina. Ignoring the fact Vaamahina just did the exact same thing.
-
Momentarily starting to ponder who had played well for the ABs when MOM was raised, only to immediately state no it has to go to a French player. They just had their score doubled you dickhead.
If we have too many more games with DMac and SBW both starting I'm going to need a new TV.
Todd shits on Savea at the moment.
Thought Taylor was excellent, massive improvement in him this year.
Pretty ghastly reading the amount of whinging about the ref in this thread. Had some not so flash moments but otherwise good. Funny to read people call SBW dumb for not knowing the rules, then immediately in uproar at a penalty try being awarded...is that irony?

Why can't the commentators say Ioane properly? Fed up with hearing eyeohniii
Because Euro commentators and pundits don't watch the SH game so their only experience is when Digby Ioane was on the massively on the radar for Australia in the 2011 RWC before he straightened out the pronunciation of his name.
Serious answer, not even being facetious.
Going back to the early 80s ... yes I'm nearly fifty ... when we properly learned how to pronounce:
Ah - ay - ee - oh - oo
Ah - ay - ee - oh - oo
Ah - ay - ee - oh - oo
Ah - ay - ee - oh - oo
Ah - ay - ee - oh - oo
Ah - ay - ee - oh - ooWe've also subsequently learned to pronounce each vowel.
Non-Kiwis and non-Polys still struggle with "i" being prounced anything other than "eye".
-
If it's any solace, our own coach admitted he didn't know the laws around penalty tries either...
-
Just wondered if the French player was behind the kicker before the SBW slapback. I was expecting they might double check that before awarding the penalty try, but maybe my eyes deceived me.
I also wonder if TKB will be captain on Tuesday, as the choices seem limited.

@rancid-schnitzel was he the one lauding the French 9 for dummying from the base of a ruck and getting away with it, calling us 2 time RWC champs amongst other unknowledgable calls?
Yep. And he somehow mistook TJP for Smith 5 minutes after he was subbed.
Rankings for today's commentators: 1. Reflink; 2. Justin Marshall (even if just talking to himself somewhere out there!); ...3. Dumb and dumber.

See ya Slimani.
About here in the thread posters are askjng who the beIN commentators were:
- Good question: do we know yet?
- I'm pretty sure I heard the antipodean comments dude call Slimani "the best prop in the world". Can those up North or who follow NH footy more than me comment?
TBF Slimani is usually technically better than any of the British (Isles) THs, with the possible exception of W P Nel. And also one of top two or three in France (not that I get to see enough Top 14 to be able to be sure). I don't think Gardner really knew what was going on. French were trying to tell him that Hames was pushing up and in (he was at 45 degrees in some scrums), which forced Slimani to push down to counter. His usual tactic is to bore in and lift.
