The All Blacks have played in Lyon six times since 1964, with the last match against France in 2006 at Stade de Gerland, which the All Blacks won 47-3.
Don't think that is correct but maybe it is just against France they are referring to. The last AB match in Lyon was 2007 I think we beat Portugal 108-13. Nice stadium.

Laumape-Goodhue me like
I thought that article the other day said Luke was heading home today?
Yep, have high hopes for that combo. Have decent halves as well so should get plenty of ball.
Making LW captain is a bit strange isn't it?

My guess is that they planned for Lsino to do it, and now need Whitelock to take on that role. Very lucky, but good on him and I hope he goes well.
It really looks like 2002(?) with all these young selections. Let’s hope there are more Tony Woodcocks than Joe McDonnells in this bunch.

Has Kaino done a Sean Coombs?

Luke Whitelock as captain harks back to the days of Blackadder at the helm. I'm convinced Hansen reads the Fern now, well played Steve.

Some interesting perspectives on French XV:
Front row will give our journeyman props a good workout. Locks test quality. Seems like their back row is green but full of athletic potential: one French answer to Fifita.
Allied to possibly best French 9, Trinh Duc, who can be brilliant, big 12 and fast three quarters this could be quite a game!

It looks a pretty heavy pack we’re going with. JTA, two locks, Squire and Whitelock are big units.

I hope it's not a case of 'too much weight, not enough speed work'

Very French quote about a match they wanted to be an official test: 'All the guys who wear the blue jersey for the first time will do it for butter. You've said weird it is weird ... An 'A' selection or not, myself, what I'll remember is that I will have the cock on the heart," said the slice of Bordelais, Marco Tauleigne.

Anybody know how to watch the match in the UK on tv?
Haven't spotted it yet?
-
@davesofthunder Live on eurosport according to Sky TV planner
-
Eurosport is good spot. If not, I'm pretty sure it's available Livestream via Allblacks.TV.

Shit, don't read the Joseph Parker thread whatever you do.
-
@davesofthunder well I've got it showing up in Premier Sports on Sky (12 squid a month).

For updated info about where to watch the games, see the first post of the 2017 November Internationals thread. If you're not in NZ, don't forget to check at the bottom of that first post.

@scribe Pricks! It was showing yesterday as on at 5pm today and I put a reminder on it, now I see it's disappeared and replaced by NHL, be interesting to see if my reminder still pops up!
Edit: Oh I see I either already have that channel (Eurosports 1) or it's free with the sports bundle. Happy Days!
