About fucking time!!!! What a fabulous test match. South Africa were awesome and at their best.
I know the hooker played well but that Elizabeth is probably the best lock in the world equal with Brodie and Whitelock.
Still buzzing. Glad I got up as I didn’t intend to
damn that auto-correct aye

Sh*t grubber from Sops. Hands over possession when we were building pressure.
Grubbers should be made illegal. Fucking backs.

Jeez - no way red. Not that it makes a difference with five minutes left.
Red or yellow no difference with less than 10 on the clock.
Harsh? Not really. The guy stopped, re-set, aimed at Sopoaga, raised his elbow and connected with the neck and jaw.
It was:
- late
- high
- intentional
- with force
Pretty much left Garces with no choice regarless that Sopoaga wasn't maimed.

du Toit huge at 7. Kind of dwarfed Cane.
Given one was playing blindside and the other open it's a tough comparison...
...Saffas play 6 and 7 opposite to normal countries.

In spite of the lineout debacle last time, I thought Karl Marx was pretty damn impressive. Showed it tonight. Boks pack in general was very good. Incredible defence and commitment.
Thought ABs should have been up by more at the half. 2 bombed tries and other fark ups in attack (cough cough SBW) gave SA a sniff. Drop off from Lima to BB is pretty huge. I rate him but just isn't anywhere near the same kind of threat. Bit ironic that Dmac and Lima missed a kick each (albeit difficult ones). Havili is a keeper. Just the kind of player this team needs.

Wow, red! A bit harsh?
Late unnecessary contact made it a penalty.. using the elbow made it a yellow...making contact with the neck/head made it red. Left the ref no choice.
Hear hear

Took too long for Garces to cotton on to Dreyer.
Dropped the first scrum then angled in all afternoon.

@bones must have been watching different game!! Haha just watched replay, he made one big handling error in first half and that was it. Two/three turnovers where cleaners ineffective which happened a lot today. Reckon he was almost best on park 😊

This game will be remembered for the TMO decision and red card. It went on for extra 10 mins in one half. Bok fans said if we win by 1 point it is a win. If we lose by 1 point it is a still a fucking loss. What a turnaround from their worst loss in history. Overall I am proud enough to say a great passionate game of rugby. Boks could have won if they had started with some other 1st choice players.
Card schmard.
Yellow or red at that time makes no difference.
Surely the Saffa ire , or anyone's, should be that De Allende turned a missed droppie into a penalty in front of the posts. 8 point lead with 3 mins to go in a match they lost by 1!
I repeat card schmard, what a dumb play!
Personally I think it was yellow, for what it's worth, as I think he collected shoulder rather than neck/chin. But he took 2 steps after landing from his attempted charge down to line that up (with a leading elbow), what an idiot.

2/3rds through the game with nz having 2 tries and Saffa 1 - it occurred to me that NZs 2 tries were very old school. Both scrappy opportunities from opposition mistakes. While the Saffa try was very, very modern. Plonking it down it front of the metre wide goal pads (dumbest law in rugby, imagine a RWC final getting decided that way one day, will be humiliating for the sport)
-
After nz went 8 up with 2 mins to go my attention drifted and I started looking at my phone, then I look up and we have a defensive lineout metres from our line. So I rewind to see who gave away the penalty for us to be there, phantom penalty. No idea what it was for or who gave it away. I saw nothing and Garces didn't signal advantage?

Judging by the lack of reaction on here, I take it most (nz fans) didnt have an issue with the Crotty try?
I didn't.
For me that just an example of TMOs and super, super slow-mo cameras making the game a bit harder than it needs to be.
But after that my heart skipped a beat for both Ioane & DMac's tries with the way they grounded it. Someone take them aside and discuss proper grounding techniques please.

Agreeing fully here.
Crotty's was worth a look. But imo he got downward pressure from his forearm. IIRC "control" isn't necessary when forcing a loose ball.

And further @Rapido those placings for the 2nd & 3rd introduced an unnecessary element of risk. (If you wanted to you might find a wee bobble in Ioane's ... )

Bok lineout pretty much immaculate today. Apart from one Pat T steal at the front. Well done Marx and the whole unit on improvement from Albany.
But, PSDT - the extra height. Got burned out wide on the DMac try. To be fair he's a big guy late into a 90 minute match.
