Interesting tweet...
"NZ outscored 2nd half in only 5 of 68 games from 2012-2016.
Now lost 2nd half in 3 consecutive matches. Last time that happened was 1996."1996 was a vintage year.

Hate is a strong word but not strong enough for Nick Phipps.
Even the Aussies seem to loathe the obnoxious little turd

Haha. McLean must've been on the turps and by halftime was too drunk to take notice of anything after that.
-
@Salacious-Crumb This test reminds me of the Bledisloe game in 97 in Dunedin. I think we were up by close to 40 at halftime and only won the game by about 10.

On what planet is that effort a nine? Was it his awful clearing bomb? Running away from support and retreating miles behind the advantage line to get caught or his excellent pass to Beale?
None of them deserved the scores they received. The Wallabies defense was dreadful and flattered us. Once Kuridrani was on for Kerevi they looked much better.
-
Pretty stunned after watching that - when did Wayne Barnes become a chilled referee? He was calm, trying to speed up play....when did that happen?
Scoreline was expected, ABs belt Aussie and spend the second half doing the equivalent of a training run. Whoever was starting centre for the Wallabies probably shouldn't be starting centre ever again.

Just got back from the game and watching the recording.
WTF, Reading this place you'd think that DMac had the worst AB performance since So'oialo at Rustenburg where at the ground he appeared to be involved in pretty much most of the good stuff in the first half.
Annoyingly you could tell the ABs had slacked off after the second of their second half tries. They fucked around in their own half for ages when they should have just kicked it downfield. Then after that they stopped building plays and just attacked individually.
Haven't got to the, ahem, interesting reffing decisions as yet on the recording, but seemed a bit suss at the ground.
Squire, Retallick, Rieko all had good games. DMac had a good game at the park, Crotty had a good game but not best on park, Smith was really good in that first half. Actually everyone had a good game in the first half ... less so in the second.
@Higgins I thought that was one of the worst anthem performances ever, I was wondering why they just used an Aussie and didn't get a Kiwi and then realised it was a Kiwi when watching the recording.
-
That was like watching the Waratah. They ship a stupid number of points and only start playing when the game is well and truly over.
I'll focus on the first 50 which was as close to perfection as you'd ever want to see. Yes the come down sucked but since when was it disappointing winning by 20 in Sydney.
I'm happy.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel It was disppointing winning by 20 in Sydney cos they should have won by 40.

Yeah I know, it would have been nice to see 70 odd but the RC is long and tough. The point is that when switched on they massacred them.

Dmac a 9 and A. Smith a 7 was a complete joke. I thought DMac had some good moments but also a lot of shockers. I think they brought him off to try and preserve his confidence. He has to get another chance but we really need to see a low error performance akin to his Super Rugby play. I also fear TJ has regressed in his bench role, really defeats the whole purpose of being an impact player if you come on and immediately make more errors than A. Smith the whole game. i think there seems to be a gulf between Crotty and ALB imho, if only we could see him go for 80mins, Bench just added nothing good today and I am still strugglingto know why Tuingafasi is an AB.

Too many people doing an Irish impression - ref was fine. The pass floated forward wasn't passed forward and folau wasn't clearly ahead. Law 22.15 was correctly applied by Barnes too.
The ABs just went totally off the boil but i suppose when you are leading by a cricket score hard to stay focussed.
Kerevi is awful on defence.

Fuck me Foley must have perfected the banana pass if he threw that backwards straight into the ABs defensive line.

Make the All Blacks bench spend another 40 minutes out there after full time doing Hennie Muller after Hennie Muller...

Not clear and obvious - must be a try for consistency's sake.
But it is Barnes....

Fair call
This time
Bull shit!
The Folau try was a try because it wasn't clear and obvious that it wasn't, so where is the same logic here?
Gunner it was 100% correct call. It WAS simultaneous.
The Folau try was patently wrong as they made the wrong call on what we all could see. Strictly speaking they got the ruling correct based on an incorrect call (or calls).
But they really had no other option on Barrett and got it right.
